two words. two men whom prove your theory about pep not rotating good players of the squad around ->

masch-thefucking-erano!

and

maravilla!

Masch didn't get much playing time until we had to sacrifice Busi to the defense, although have to say he needed some time to ease into the squad

Maravilla is not a backup, he plays most of the time and doesn't only when he is not fit enough to play the entire match or is playing crap

Didn't say good players, said fundamental players. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta & Alves. He started bringing off Xaviniesta only when he realised it's not good to play them throughout, read after Xavi started having those tendonitis problems. Still plays Messi for the whole time even when not needed... there's Villa to stand in once in a while, at least when we are with a comfortable lead! Alves plays practically all matches, all minutes.

1. masch didn't play because he wasen't good enough + busi was performing reaaaally good.

2. maravilla not a backup indeed, and the only pure striker we have but pep taking out villa putting keita in shows that i'm right. he takes out important players and puts in another to give him playing time.

3. messi plays because he wants to play 90 minutes. it would be unwise to restrain him from plaing, and it's unwise to let him play. which one do you choose? an happy player with slight chance of injuy or a happier player with bigger chance o injury?
+ we don't have players to bring of xavi.
and there's no need to sub dani. he can play all day every week

Of course!!

Let's see how effectively he balances the minutes between Busi & him now that he's geling well with the team... Although I think that's not big a problem because both are awesome anyway. Now same can't be said about Fabregas starting instead of Xavi!!
2. maravilla not a backup indeed, and the only pure striker we have but pep taking out villa putting keita in shows that i'm right. he takes out important players and puts in another to give him playing time.
Villa doesn't play a pure striker in our system. Bringing on Keita for him is both to rest his tiring legs and a tactical switch to defend the lead. Not exactly a rotation. Pep himself says Keita is an awesome player, a symbol for this Barca but doesn't start as much as he himself would like let alone to Keita's liking

Even if Fabregas comes Messi would still want to play all 90 minutes all matches, so 'presence of Cesc means more rest for Messi' is only a moot point!!
we don't have players to bring of xavi.
Keita mostly comes on for Xavi these days
there's no need to sub dani. he can play all day every week
He's not a machine, fatigue catches with every body... Hell even Ronaldo is troubled with it lately! It's better to take it easy once in a while and it should be Pep's duty to ensure that
