Going to play NBA 2K11 ? Jordan Challenge seems to be very promising, however that will be the first 2K game of mine so will have to get used to the level. I'm definitely not going to buy NBA Live as it is absolute trash.

I struggled at first with it as well, especially post D. You just need to play smart D like you would in real life. By that I mean don't go for steals every possession cause you'll get burned, in general you'd rather give up a jump shot than a layup/dunk unless you're defending a sharpshooter. Some players are just quicker and will blow by you no matter what you do, so try to force them to their weak hand and towards help D. Contest all shots even if you're clearly too late to block it. In the post, the main thing is to not bite too easily on fakes, and if you're defending say Al Jefferson with a poor post defender, a double is likely the only solution.

The intense D actually only works with a good defender, if you use it with a bad one they'll blow by easily. In that case you want to give some space if the guy is not a lights out shooter.

One last thing. When I play teams with one clear star, I often try to deny them the ball, especially at the end of games. Say you're playing the Cavs, let the cpu defend Mo and try to deny James the ball by taking control of your SF.

Meh found out the awful Durant ratings were due to a glitch in the development feature, dloaded the patch to fix it but can't fix my save so I decided to start over. Wanted to play with updated rosters anyway, so now I get to play the diva team with the NETS.

moves I made directly after taking over:

waived Simmons, Boone and Ross

signed McGrady 1y/5.85M w/ team option.
signed Fran Vazquez 1Y/1.5M w/ team option
signed Ricky Rubio 4y/24M w/ team option

Put Williams, Outlaw and Lee on the trading block. Mainly because the way I play, I really need great shooters on the perimeter (which Outlaw and Williams are not) and because I absolutely despise playing with guys who have an uberslow release on their shot (which all 3 have). Hoping to get some picks and someone like Morrow out of them.

I did a myplayer thing, made myself a 7'5 rebounding center.

picked the heat to play with as they have zero inside presence in real-life, maxed out my rebound stats, and I'm now starting to boss games.

it's a good laugh. especially as wade got fucked for ages which exposed the lack of squad depth. also coz I'm only playing the default 5 minute quarters (while the CPU is simming at 12 minutes) my matches always have lower scores so lebron only has somethin' like 15ppg which is shit compared to other top players. thought I'd mention this to make ward smile.

but I did beast the fuck out of the lakers, winning in the staples center. had a couple of sick blocks on kobe as he ran at the bucket.

I'm thinking of doing another one as a swingman or cornerman (dunno which) it's cool being an important cog in a superskilled machine but I wanna do one where I'm the main man on a team. dunno what team, though. the cavs maybe? kinda wanna play in the west though, as that guy is in the east.

also, where's the debate about all-time players? shumawn fools.

Don't like the my player thing all that much. I got stuck on the Rockets, couldn't change the quarter length from 5 minutes and despite being absolute trash I got an absurd amount of playing time in the nba.

Dominated my first game with the Nets, but I have to admit it doesn't mean much as I played the T-Wolves and shot over 40 FTs

made some awesome trades though:

Farmar for Morrow, straight up
Terrence Williams to Indiana for Rush & a first rounder (guaranteed lottery pick)
Outlaw, Hayes, Vazquez and my first round pick for Galinari, Barron and a second rounder from NY.

so now I got great shooters (Morrow, Rush, Galinari), a great talent (Galinari), a 1st round pick that is 99% certain gonna be higher than the one I traded a way, and an extra second rounder. What a GM I'd make. Lets see what I can get for Courtney Lee.
