There is no point in extending his contract so early.

He is a player who primarily depends on pace, it’s silly to renew him without observing how his pace may decline in a few years.

That's what I was going to say myself. Shouldn't be quick to give him a renewal just yet.

It's not just what happens when his pace starts to go away but how he deals with his body as well physical wise. He's not exactly made out of steel himself he does have a fair share of injury problems here and there and I assume there's a good chance that it will get worse as he gets older.
