Great 1st half from him today. Made a couple good defensive plays, some nice crosses, and has combined well with Dembele.

He can't produce a dangerous cross to safe his life. Gets better service than any fullback in the world. We're literally leaving Dest by himself with 3 opponents while Alba gets 3 playmakers in gravitating to his area. And he can't fucking hit a teammate in the box.

There is an issue in how often our attacks cultimate with a pass in from Alba and everything comes to rely on his ability to hit a teammate.
4 our of 10 times he puts it right into the legs of the nearest defender. Another 4 out of 10 is a pass back to Messi no matter how many opponents is around him. That one hasn't resulted in a goal in what, a year?
Granted it's not completely his fault. Our runs into the box leave much to be desired. Very rarely do we have someone in all the positions you want: front post (although Braithwaite is starting to show op there), back post, middle, box, trailing run.

Yeah that Messi to Alba cross-field ball, then Alba cutback got sussed out at the end of 2018. Bit worrying we still see that attempted several times a game. Alba has had a few good games this season though but overall he's declined ever since his contract extension was announced.
