DM
If you call him DM, it means we played with 3 DM's, which is sad because its true and still not enough not to concede 4 goals.

What else would you have called him? He wasn't exactly offensive.
Was rather more concerned with throwing himself into tackles.

One huge fuck-up but he had a great season along with Piqué, Lenglet, Ter Stegen.
I wouldn't blame the defenders too harshly (except Roberto) considering that they had to play with awful Vidal-Busi-Raki midfield + Suarez-Coutinho who were all basically just there.. and provided nothing.

Oh look just blame Roberto  the Hate on that guy in this sub is really over 9000. I bet he's the one committed Alba's blunders you guys will kill him

Alba showing why Enrique froze him out

Yes, more or less.
He is a full-back but not the best on the globe as a defender.
Unfortunately after Neymar's departure, he himself started to believe that playing as a pseudo-winger (and he does that well) he was great and it was enough.
But it's not enough when:
- playing against a motivated strong opponent when serious defense efforts are needed
- when he defends and has to defend, so he cannot play as a winger

And both combined - once again shows Valverde's incompetence, because in the situation as above, the LB is either missed at front, or in the back, so the "usual tactics" fall apart, specially considering that the team has no right wing as such...

Huge part in our loss. Waisted CL for us, thanks Alba.

We can only hope some competition will clear his head in the big games next season. That said he was great in the first leg, so maybe it was just pure bad luck with 2 mistakes in 1 important game.

What should he say?

Alba has a truly terrible night, worst I ever recall from him. But he is one of the best in the world, if not the bets in the world. Marcelo and later year's Alves, the focused defense was a problem for them too. Another interesting element to the game is around Robertson--who has been one of the best in the world this year as an all arounder (probably the best all arounder this year). But he left at halftime for James Milner, and they then attacked more through TAA on the other side, and didn't miss a beat. A reflection on the contrast of how tuned in the managers/staff were.

Alba will be back and get a chance for amends. He has been brilliant for us this year, except one match. He has to live with it more than any of us, just like Messi and all the players who worked a year if not years, every day, to get that moment.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
That would be ok, if it was the first time it happened, but two years in a row doesn't make any sense...

He needs real competition next season...

just re-watched the game. It must have been one of Alba's worst performances ever in a Barcelona shirt. His errors were directly responsible for the first and last goal, not to mention the amount of times he turned the ball over.

At least he is honest... Valverde can't be blamed for Alba shitting the bed and sheets
