Messi is good in the air when unmarked.
He can't score a header if the defenders aremarking him because generally they are taller than him.

Alba can barely cross the ball anyway so it doesnt really matter and he is poor with ball on deck in final third which is the biggest issue.

...And yet, his defensive contribution seems a lot more useful than his offensive one in this setup. His game is not going forward like Marcelo can and does; he's more of a traditional out and out LWB, bombing up and down and providing overlapping runs every time it's needed. He has no clue what to do if asked to do anything more overlap>>>cutback.

He needs to see the bench anyway. Way too inconsistent this season. Had some really good games but was our worst player against Atletico e.g.
Time for Digne to step up now. And a back up role for Cucu in some games would be awesome.

To me he was ineffective, especially in offensive plays. Even in this shit weather over Barcelona tonight we see he is changed, improved a lot since last season.
