Barçapocalypse NOW!
Why is this guy never questioned? He can have a decent match once in a while, but most of the time he's just average... We should be thinking about a left back, to be honest...

Same problem with Alba as ever.

Lack of end product.

People will always bring up a few highlights moments like his goal in the CDR final or the ball to Messi in the Bernabeu, but his end product 90% of the time is just awful.

It's pretty crazy the kind of attacking LB's teams have in Marcelo, Alaba, etc. Alba is good in a Neymar/Hazard type LW set up, where he just has to run and run and run, and then run some more to defend. In this system, he IS the Neymar/Hazard receiving the ball on the wings. Everyone knows he can't do much with the ball, it's astounding that Valverde cannot see this.

Over and over again, Alba is on the LW, passing back to Iniesta. Who's going to overlap? Who's going to run behind the defense and cross? I think Semedo is much more potent in attack, and Alba should play the Semedo type 'safe' role and we should switch this system where most of the attacks begin down Alba's side to the right. At least for the interim, till we sort this mess out.

He is questioned a fair bit.

He isn't.

Almost all the time he has the ball in the final 3rd he fucks it up royally. Defence he is ok but he is a bit overrated.

I remember 2 years back he was called the best LB in the world but alaba and marcelo were always comfortably better than him.

What people fail to understand is that Barcelona have been a team full of midgets over the last decade.

Marcelo and Carvajal are great crossers of the ball but in the penalty area there are Bale, Ronaldo, Benzema and sometimes Ramos, players who are tall and can score headers.
In Barcelona the only player who can score this type of goals is Suarez, Messi is a midget and no one except Pique is specialized in scoring goals with their head, so don't be too harsh on Alba.

Messi is actually quite good in the air for his size and with Suarez/Paulinho there are targets to aim for.

Even then Albas cut backs etc and general play is poor in the final third. Where others would be a lot better.

Can see when a player is putting in good balls and when they arent and Alba rarely does on the ground or from crosses.

Were you on the match chat yesterday? He was getting slaughtered for most part.

Going forward is his game, can't help it.
