I don't really think there's been a truly outstanding centre-back so far this season in European football.

Not like Rio Ferdinand was between 2006 and 2008 and Pique/Vidic/Lucio stood out in 2008/09 and last season.

Yeh its gotta be said, Nesta is immense, I was joking, he's definetely up there with the best of them even with his age, and without a doubt one of the best cb's in history.

So a 23 year old in his first season in the Premier league isn't going to make mistakes? Especially one who was carrying an injury for the second half of the season when he made mistakes. Oh and one that had a different defensive partner every week and a shit keeper behind him.

I forgot about Pique at first. Can't chose between him and Vidic.

I did of course cos I couldn't chose between Vidic and Pique so chose Vermaelen as I knew he wouldn't get any other votes :lol:
