Blackburn wanted him to replace Santa Cruz, but they don't know if Di Santo is up for it.
I don't think Pato is creative enough, we are linked with Sneijder so I think that's the type of creative player we are seeking, but where to play them? Central midfield is packed.
To be totally honest if City bid 35-40m pounds for Terry, and he is even slightly considering moving there, I reckon we should sell him.
I do too and buy a world class centre back with the money.
Football is a simple game, complicated by idiots.
It would mean they could keep Carvalho who is IMO better than Terry.
God doesn't pick football teams but if he did.... they'd probably look like this
Personally I'd sell Terry and with that money buy Woodgate.
I've always rated Woodgate for some reason even though he's a cunt. But he is a top quality centre back.

Santacroce for Napoli will be a superstar in a few years, an Alex-Santa partnership would be awesome. Carvalho is injured too much these days, he's one of my favourite defenders but I think it's time for him to go too, he needs a new challenge, which he even stated himself.
The only real problem with Terry leaving is his leadership skills and his ability to keep the defence very organized, but as an actually defender IMO he's not world class, he's never been the best defender at the club, he gets turned WAY too easy by quick guys and has to pull their shirts or do a rugby tackle to stop them. His no nonsense body-on-the-line style defending is admirable, but he's always coming back from injuries(which are getting more and more frequent these days) WAY early, and it's gotta be taking it's toll on his body, one day he's just going to fall to pieces and I'd rather off him now for a ridiculous price and leave City with a guy who's very likely to retire early due to injury than miss this opportunity.
But like I said, I'd only have him leave if he's actually considering it, if he's not considering it and he's Chelsea blue through and through then keep him, cause at the end of the day you can't buy that kinda loyalty, despite some of the flaws that he possesses. By saying he's not world class I'm not saying he's shit, he's very good, and a good partner to whoever he's playing with, but he's never the best defender on our team.
How's Woodgate's fitness these days Eddy?
Think its improving alas he is the more stable one from the king-woodgate partnership. So I would say he is pretty reliable.

Woodgate is good but since Alex is my first choice defender(despide how clumsy and bumbling he looks and even plays, he's a very good defender), I'd prefer a quicky defender next to him like Santacroce. The Gallas-Terry and Carvalho-Terry partnerships back in the day were fucking awesome, with Terry being the big slow tough defender, and the other being the quick and more technically gifted defender. I've always been a big fan of the big man-quick man defensive partnership, and I'd like to hope it will happen if Terry does leave, which I don't think will happen unless he asks to leave.
I agree with you in the partnership role, which is why I love to see Agger-Skrtel for us. Agger is a leftie, fast, good with the ball and can score. Skrtel is rightie, is strong and tough and looks can kill with him around!!. Though they need to talk a bit more on the field.
But I get your point in that contrasting styles mix well as a combination.

Well at the end of the day if you have 2 slow guys there's a good chance they'll be caught out, lucky for us Alex and Terry are good enough to not get caught out TOO much. If you have 2 quicky defenders then they could get outmuscled by a target man cause they tend not to be the strongest defenders out. And to be honest there isn't a whole lot of big tall defenders who are also quick and technically good as well as being very good or world class defenders, so the best way is to mix the two.
The papers are having a field day with this Terry to City shit, hopefully Terry and the club come out and tell us what's going on, cause I'd rather him fuck off ASAP if he really, really wants to so we can use the money to get a replacement and another player or 2.
If he went who would you like as his replacement and who would you make captain?
Football is a simple game, complicated by idiots.
Well Lampard would be the obvious choice for captain, Ashley probably would turn out to be vice captain, it'd be a good idea to keep the captains English. I couldn't really think of anyone else other than Lampard tbh, even though he's not the same type of captain as Terry he'd do the job adequately.
Chiellini is my dream replacement but he won't leave Juve, and he's likely to be their future captain. Realistically I'd want a young, quick defender to partner Alex since I think Riccy(who isn't young anymore and will definately be losing some of his pace with all these injuries) will leave also, though if he stays he'll probably be injured half the season so it'd be wise to buy somebody. I said earlier in the thread I'd like Fabiano Santacroce of Napoli, he's not even 23 yet and it's really only a matter of time before be becomes a regular in the Italian national team alongside Chiellini. He has to leave Napoli to fulfil his potential as the next Nesta, and Chelsea would be a good place to do it if Terry was to leave.
Sucks to be Mancienne though, he's got the potential to be a good defender and wanted to prove himself at the recent U21 tournament but he totally fucked up, got sent off and then gave away a goal, and now looks like to be sent away on loan to Wolves. I don't think the club are selling him though, which is a good idea, I still think he might be able to make it so keeping him is good, plus he's homegrown.
Edit: It's from ********* so it's likely to be bullshit, but they reckon Chelsea are looking at Steven Taylor as a replacement for Terry if he goes. I think Taylor is the only defender at Newcastle over the last few years that has actually been good, and I think he can become a top defender one day. I wonder if he'd leave though, since he said that he'd stay at Newcastle regardless of relegation. If Chelsea came knocking I'm sure he'd leave though.

Woodgate eddy come on he makes Owen look a reliable signing for us !!!
Great defender but to much of a risk you dont want to be in the middle of a run in and you main defender gets injured . Id spend the money on a solid reliable defender like Hangerland who is playing well below his level at Fulham.
