Yeah I was thinking another midfielder also. But we haven't really been linked with any other than Ramires, and I think signing Neymar(one player we've been linked with a lot) would be a bad idea, while David Luiz costs too much so we definitely won't get him(obviously going off topic from midfielders and generally speaking of who could be the last signing). Essien wasn't injury prone until the last 2 seasons, so hopefully he won't get unlucky and have another serious injury.

Kakuta will play further forward so I wouldn't count him in the midfield stakes either. So really it's Lampard, Essien, Ramires, Mikel and Matic right now. One more wouldn't hurt. If Carvalho is sold I'd just promote Bruma, but in terms of midfield youth I don't think we have many good ones from what I can recall. Michael Woods has gone to shit as far as I know.

Also went over to Amsterdam to see the Ajax game. The young players were really impressive, especially the defenders. (Though some of the young forwards were missing of course - in France with the U19s - Kakuta, Borini...)

Bruma, van Aanholt, Bertrand all looked great. Also I was very impressed with Chalobah - very assured for a 15 year old.

Yeah Bruma got called up to the Holland team! Of course they didn't call up any of the World Cup squad, but for him to make it is great. van Aanholt seems like he'll be better than Bertrand from what I've seen, probably the successor to our LB spot after Cole is done.

I don't think Mancienne will make it at the club though.

I think that we'll have to wait and see how the youngsters develop. But there are certainly plenty good prospects and there will be chances for them with the new rules.

According to rumours Wolves wanted to sign Mancienne for £4M after his loan spell there, so they certainly liked him.
