Young fans angry as players refuse to sign autographs at club's 'open' training session

Chelsea players were jeered yesterday after fans who had turned up to watch an open training session were denied the chance to get autographs from them. Over 8,000 Chelsea supporters were at Stamford Bridge to see Joe Cole complete his first training session on his return from injury but the party atmosphere went sour when the crowd was told players would not be signing autographs due to "security concerns".

After a 90-minute practice session the Chelsea players gave a half-hearted lap of honour during which they were roundly applauded. But those cheers quickly turned to boos as the announcer informed those in the stands that players would not be putting pen to paper for the thousands of schoolchildren in attendance.

Things went badly from the very start of the event. A Chelsea employee had tried to get the fans going by leading the singing of a song – to no avail. Fans did eventually burst into life but only after the Tannoy system had given them a helping hand.

A pep talk from the Chelsea captain John Terry urging supporters to turn up in force on Saturday for the Premier League match against Burnley was not enough to reverse the damage.

my mate knows a life long chelsea fan who did some work at JT's house and when he was one day away from finishing he left the invoice and 2 childs sized chelsea shirts (his 5 and 8 years olds) and a pen for them to be signed and when he got back and finished there was cash for the exact amount and the shirts were untouched. the man is a complete cunt of the highest order, and I have no respect for him whatsoever, I actually hate the fact he is our national captain.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Terry either, not for a long time. I think his nice guy act the last 2 years is more for show, although sometimes he can be nice, generally he's a cunt. Oh well, can't do shit about it really.

I met the guy who looks after the PL trophy at a work event last year (I wanted to pick it up but he said I couldn't touch it. :sad: there was damage to it caused by arsenal apparently, lol) and he said that john terry is a twat and that (you won't believe this) wayne rooney is the nicest footballer he's met!

Chelsea do shit for charity too, big whoop. Doing shit for charities and visiting children's wards means fuck all, it's like almost compulsory as a famous person to do that.

And if Gerrard, captain of Liverpool and icon of the club, didn't help the Hillborough campaign, it'd look terrible, if there's any off field stuff that he has absolutely no choice in doing, it's that.
