24 year old PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has his contract running out in June 2011. He turned down the latest offer from his current club and therefore both player and the club will be looking at the best options possible for him to find a new club. The club wants to sell him in winter to get some profit from the transfer. PSV will be looking at the offers from clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool which confirmed interest in acquiring the player. Afellay was also linked to Arsenal as an alternative to replace Cesc Fabregas who would like to return to his hometown.
However, there also are numerous rumors about Barcelona targeting the player. This is due to Arsenal not willing to sell their leader and pulling the price for him up to levels that Barca can't afford due to financial problems.
What do you think about it guys ?
Personally, I recall the history of Dutchmen in Spain and the perspective of acquiring another one isn't quite amusing. But who knows, maybe his career will follow Sneijder's path ? He is a skillfull midfielder who can also play on the wing, a bit like Iniesta. I think he could do well in Barca.
