They looked half decent against Madrid.

La Real is the favourite IMO...Hercules seems decent though.

Anyone else sort of cheesed off that after just 1 round of the campaign, we are already on an international break?

Atletico look most likely to be 3rd, I would rather say that if they find consistency, which I feel they already are, they would be breathing right on the necks of Barca and Real.

Of course, the schedule for footballers continues to be a taxing one these days
Paolo Maldini - "In my opinion, Messi should win the Golden Ball each year. He's an unbelievable player."

I remember Blatter was explaining a few days back about the friendlies that are scheduled. He said that many teams have new managers so they need to see early on how things were working out and I thought it was not that bad of an idea.

Forlan scored, Athletic Bilbao 0-1 Atletico Madrid.

    Close from Llorente, great run

Penalty for Atletico, chance to make it 2-0.

I think Aguero got injured though.

    Nevermind, not a penalty...FK

    Tiago!

Still not 100% convinced with their defense but Madrid's finest team has tons of weapons.

    1-2, goal by Llorente.

    Their defense is still dodgy

To be fair Athletic is legit, especially at home. This isn't exactly the same as playing Hercules.

And Atletico takes the lead...followed by Valencia. Who said La Liga wasn't competitive? Only two rounds in and both the top two teams dropped points while Chelsea hasn't dropped a single point and they're four rounds in.

Still a lot can happen but I still think last year was a fluke. Either Barcelona or Real Madrid will win La Liga this year, but the league isn't the punching bag it was last year. There's a lot of exciting talent spread around.

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that Barca lost 2-0 at home to Hercules. I had some work to do and was out for a long time.... 2 friends told me when I saw them but still wanted to make sure by calling my dad and making fun of him as he is a die hard Barca fan.

What a suprising day of football Saturday has been.....
