Inter made much more sense than Bayern, even though I was hoping Bayern would pull something out and take the win, in my heart I knew that would never happen and I was right. Inter wasn't a huge surprise because of Mourinho's coaching and Milito's excellent form.

UEFA is to propose to the world football body FIFA and the International Football Association Board (IFAB) that the experiment with five match officials be continued in major European competitions – the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup and UEFA EURO 2012.

The Executive Committee's proposal follows the option given by the IFAB to the continental football confederations and national football associations to carry out a further two-year trial to test the system of five referees.

Consequently, UEFA is to request that further trials take place in the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League from the qualifying play-offs ahead of the group stage, the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League as from the group stage, the 2010 UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying phase and final tournament.

FIFA is requesting the confederations and associations to transmit their wishes, and an IFAB sub-committee will meet in July to approve requests that are made. The five-referee experiment has been undertaken most recently during the 2009/10 UEFA Europa League season.

The system of five match officials involves the referee, two assistant referees and the fourth official being accompanied by two additional assistant referees who take up positions alongside each goal. The two additional assistants are charged in particular with the task of focusing on penalty-area incidents.

"We have made the experiment in the UEFA Europa League, it went well, and we want to continue," said UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino. "It is difficult to find something negative in this experiment. We now have to fulfil the formalities and make a request to FIFA, and we hope that FIFA will grant this request."

Initial trials with two additional assistant referees took place in UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying tournaments in 2008, after which the IFAB gave permission for the experiment to be continued at professional level. The UEFA Europa League was the setting for the experiment in its debut season.

What do you guys think? Will this be better? Or make no difference? I didn't see much of Europa League this season except the final match so I don't know if it was good or not.

Excellent news, I was hoping they would move it up to CL. More opportunities for officials to get into top-level football and more eyes to see what happens in crucial parts of the field.

I watched a bit of Europa and I couldn't really tell the difference, but I don't see how this could go bad, so why not.

I think this is Real Madrid's or Chelsea's year.

Inter will find it hard to defend without Mourinho.

Mourinho will not win it twice in a row, nor will Inter.

Not an entity nor a person can have the required luck to win the CL two years in a row.
May permanent peace be brought to the Arab world. My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost loved one(s). I wish and hope those who are creating religious, racial, regional, and tribal divisions among/within the Arab nations would be defeated in their quest for the destruction of the Middle East.

Madrid will probably improve when it comes to the CL but not win it right away I don't think. Took Mourinho two years to put Inter at the top.

I watched a lot of Europa League matches (Fulham were great, esp against Juve) and the additional officials did not add anything.

In one match the wrong Fulham player was shown a red card for an incident which happened right in front of the additional official, and he did not intervene.

The only time I saw one speak up was in the Atletico v Liverpool game, when the crowd was throwing firecrackers at him.
