Too little too late. Better late than never? it won't matter, we are banned from transfers until 2016. The only good thing is he will stop getting paid.

Now let's hope Freixa pushes really hard for elections at the end of the season.

Finally! :barca scarf::flagvl8:

Now the board just needs to pack up and join him. I mean, who are they going to replace him with? Especially with a transferban that extends nearly to the end of their contracts, if they are not booted out first, something that is getting more and more likely by each passing week. Filling the position would be mainly a symbolic gesture now, nothing more. This is a first step in the direction of admitting administrative mistakes were made, and they just need to continue extending this line of thought untill they reach themselves - and then follow Zubi out the doors.

One thing is for sure, this is readying the ground for early elections, and Laporta is getting a successful campaign handed to him on a silver plate by these guys. If he loses it would have to be due to a monumental slip-up.

Though the next sporting director won't be able to make any transfers, he can at least handle contracts of players in a better way.
It's a start, hopefully develops into something bigger.

Yeah, definitely just a stunt by Barto & co to save their own faces present fans a worthy scapegoat, but I still think it's better they do it now than at the end of the season. Had they done it in the summer, people would probably have been content with this step and blame the entire season on Zubi's perceived failure to build a good squad, then shut up. Now, there's some 4-5 months left for people to build more anger and blame (supposing that we won't improve), and there's a chance that an already-sacked Zubi won't be enough for people. Of course rationally, the board can always point the finger to Zubi for as long as there's the transfer ban, but the way the "football fan" species works I feel they might get bored of just blaming Zubi sooner or later and start shift the blame to other people in the board too.

That said, can't complain. It remains unclear how many of the squad decisions were actually on him alone, but it's a good first step.
