NASCAR = BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING ... WRC is amazingly challenging and complex. I remember one year Carlos Sainz was racing at a course in Greece. Part of the course was on the edge of cliffs and I remember Sainz blowing an entry turn and almost flipping over the side of the cliff but was saved by a random pole that just happened to be there. I wonder if I can find the picture.

Insane Hirvonen crash in Rally Finland, glad he and his co-driver were unhurt. A real testament to the safety equipment used nowadays.

Been backing him for the championship but now it's looking less and less likely.

Although I really think Kimi actually enjoys rallying though, he looks so much happier there than he did in F1 last year. It was obvious last year when he went rallying several times in between F1 races and even put a clause in any potential future contract that he must be allowed to go rallying when he has no F1 obligation. His salary demands are/were ridiculous, yes, but I think WRC is more fun for him regardless.
You spoke the truth. He's having more fun than in F1 ( although missing his comments in PR ). I belive he really thinks he can win the championship. I just fear he'll fail epically...

Well I mean he crashes out almost every rally... hopefully he improves next year. What is going on with the rumors that he might switch rally teams to Ford and then also do NASCAR?

Yeah, his year wasn't so good. I don't know about the NASCAR rumors. I think he signed a deal with Citroën already. All of this might change because Kimi's dad died, I think about a week ago. After the news about the death had reached the media, Kimi's manager said something along the lines that his career was in ice for the moment and they'll talk about it later. Try and make something out of that.

They dropped due to budget problems. Some people still enter in private Subarus, Mitsubishis, etc but there are no actual teams for them anymore.

Pity rallying is gone down hill in last few years, it'll be a great day when Loeb finally bows out as he is just annoying now. Great driver and all that but making WRC rubbish nowadays. Used to follow it mad years ago but grown out of it now. Rallying is massive in Ireland, a few years ago we had the most WRC cars per head of population
