Got to try and bring through Scottish youngsters.
I'm sorry to say it Stuart but there are only two ways that Scottish football will go; further down, or unification with the English league system for the larger clubs in the way that Cardiff, Swansea and Wrexham play within the English setup.

Yip maybe the rot is set in to such a deep extent it would take a huge shift/change to drag Scottish football back to what it used to be

Erm, no. Gordon, Hutton, D Fletcher, Dorrans and McFadden are all better.

God doesn't pick football teams but if he did.... they'd probably look like this

I saw some of those Henry (New york red bulls) highlights and Hutton was really bad. I rated a few years back when he joined Spurs but he's gone downhill quite a fair bit.

Hutton? McFadden? They are shite. McFadden wasn't even first choice come the end of the season for Birmingham.

Dorrans is decent in the championship but Adam pretty much single handedly got Blackpool to the PL.

    darren fletcher
    scott brown
    kris boyd

    a boatload of class

    charlie adam

hutton is very good but is constantly injured, so he could be counted but could also be discounted. gordon's a goalkeeper so it's kinda pointless to compare him.

tbh I don't think the scottish system needs merging with the english one, it needs a stricter control on foreign imports though. there should be a max of 2 or 3 per squad. a league full of scots would greatly level the playing field and improve the overall quality of scottish players eventually. also the league structure needs changing. 4 games a season against each team? this isn't basketball. and then there's the one-down one-up policy in terms of relegation, which is way too few. and the league splitting in half at the end? mindblowingly retarded.

Scott Brown and Kris Boyd are both very average. Until we see Adam at this level I can't say, but I suspect he will be very average too.

Scotland only have 1 very good player Fletcher, the rest are either good (Gordon), Average (Hutton, Steven Fletcher) or very average or just plain crap.

Though I agree the league system needs a complete restructure. Though I do not want ever to see rangers or celtic in the english league.

scott brown very average? have you watched him play at all? he's majestic in the champions league for celtic.

boyd is nought but a goalscorer, true enough, but put him in a team that creates chances and he will score goals for fun.

I also watched him in the SPL where he was very average. If he was above very average then a mid table epl team would have snapped him up.

Boyd played for Rangers against school boy defences in spl, so he has chances aplenty in scotland and I still thought he was very average.

In Scotland you are made to look 50% better than you really are. At least.

Sad but true. Your clubs glory days were built around Scottish players and a lot of Liverpool legends are Scots. Cant see that happening again for a long, long time.

Boyd is like a poor man's Higuain. Meta, I agree with most of what you said but Scott Brown during the 09/10 season was a shadow of his former self. Hopefully he will pick it up again this season.

He is simply awful and id agree with you, though Caldwell and Loovens gave him a good run for his money
