Except they weren't for the most part his errors alone. Odriozola left the side wide open. Pretty much their every chance came from there.

He should have got a straight red card for stopping a goal scoring chance with his hands...but the rules don't apply for their players

Sure. Except you can't 100% prove it one way or another since all he's doing in the moment is making a tackle, like any other on the pitch. And it goes as such in the referee report.

Will be.. interesting if he doesn't get suspended, eh? :)

Not needed it to be included in the referee report or have it be very obvious for UEFA to come down with the hammer. They've opened disciplinary proceedings against him so we'll see.

It kind of does need to be obvious enough. There are differences, no matter what is said out loud. Time-wasting with a hopelessly safe lead in a two-legged tie, or a final group stage game with 1st secured, is as clear as it needs to be with this type of thing. A mid-tie tackle fortunately for Ramos is not so clear as everything's there to play for still considering the circumstances. Kind of why nobody even batted their eye until he got asked the question whether he "thought of fouling to earn the booking". Here's what his quote is (by FourFourTwo and elsewhere):

Note how he never mentions anything about the card and it's put in parentheses in direct reports. If you can find a clip where it's clear he means the card then sure.

Spanish speakers wanna transcribe his exact words? Preferably without adding stuff in between? I can trust Cules to do that with integrity of Ramos' speech eh? :p

It's probably exactly why they're taking longer on this. He seemingly deflects pretty well actually by saying he referred to the foul that he couldn't avoid. And he makes a good point about not getting the card vs Roma ahead of CSKA where he wasn't going to get called up. Which is funny because he may just get away with it, no matter how sloppy it seems.

Wouldn't be surprised whatever the outcome.

Proof? What proof beyond the player confessing to it would you need?
