WC 2006 - After one of the most dirty matches in the history of the football they make it to the QF, Figo & others should've been fed to the pigs after that game with Ned, Ronaldo showing his very low caracter with England, just another example of a shitty country and its shitty people.
- Figo, Rui Costa etc era over

Euro 2016 - This shit team won without having 1 single though opponent en route to the final, worst Euro in history + format couldn't possibly be worse.

, but seriously

1 goal conceded in 450 minutes of knockout rounds.
Croatia wasn't that weak. People here in Croatia were saying that we'll reach the final and that we'll trash Portugal 3:0.
Poland wasn't that weak either.
France as a host and helped by Uefa and referees weren't an easy opponent either.

"people were saying in croatia", who cares what people were saying in Croatia about their own team?
Poland wasn't weak? Just a mediocre team that won't achieve anything in a normal tournament ever because they're weak, in a Euro with 16 teams and a World Cup won't even make it past the group stage, but they're best player was crap, they're other striker was one of the clowns of the tournaments and Portugal still only won at penalties.
France helped by UEFA!?!?!?!?! Where were they helped in any way, the referee fucked Koscielny up with Eder handball that preceded the goal by a few minutes.

Portugal is just the worst tournament winner ever, in the worst tournament ever itself with the worst possible format, winning team is from one of the top 3 worst European Nations too.

When I read France was helped by UEFA or Croatia "would've been in the final" because that's what croats believed, it's like I'm seeing a surreal movie.

Argentina has not scored in the last 4 finals they played. 120m vs Chile (CC 2016), 120m vs Chile (CC 2015), 120m vs Germany (WC 2014), 90m vs Brazil (CA 2007). That's a lot of minutes of 100m players not scoring. And the finals are played differently, its about tactics, so chess is really the perfect analogy.

Portugal played way better than Greece in 2004, and besides the first 20 minutes of the game, Portugal ended up outplaying France after Ronaldo's injury. So not sure about the not tried statement.

They didn´t really outplay France.Maybe in extra time but before that they barely did anything beside some hopefull crosses and long balls.France still looked like the more likely to score.

For me Portugal outplayed everybody in groupstage (ok match vs Hungary was run-n-gun misakes and funny goals) and everything else was let them play we will wait. That is something I expect from bottom/middle level teams. Not top level.

About Argentina, they had shots on target at least :) Higuain for one.

So, Real, Portugal and Chile combined played:
7+4+3 knockout matches this year.
They conceded 3+1+0 goals in 14 matches (4 goals in 14 matches).
Or, they conceded only in 3 matches out of 14 (Wolfsburg, Atletico, Poland).
So, these 3 teams had 11 clean sheets in 14 matches.

It is easy to dismiss someone's success just by saying: they were lucky, they had an easy draw and similar.
The fact is: defenses are winning in knockout matches lately.
Key is not to concede a goal.

And then you have Barca, who had to face Atletico, and we had that stat that Barca conceded at least 1 goal in the last 13 out of 14 matches with Spanish opponents in knockout rounds in European matches.

In that term, Barca is sometimes naive the same as Croatia.
Croatia hadn't win a knockout match for 18 years in a row, yet they believe it is someone else's fault and that they are just unlucky.
Barca are conceding too many goals in knockout stages and we also think that we should continue "our" way.

You are totaly right and stats are on your side. On KO tourney you have to play safe and see what opportunity brings. But. There is a two way street there.
Portugal was not just lucky, they were tacticaly prepared beyond others... but... see the goal against Croatia. Tactis said Perisic will hit the barr seconds before they scored? Tactics said that Griezman will misss clean header in front Rui Patricio? Or see Chile? Tactics said that MESSI will miss the whole goal?

I don't see how someone can count on defending and defending and defendig with thinking there will be no unlucky handball in penalty area or unlucky diverted own goal on some lukcy shot from 20m in the crossbarr.

As for the Croatia and "we should play in the finals"... right... and I should have millions by now to. Damn luck :) :) :)

Portugal should of won the 3 games in the group stage they created the most clear cut goal scoring chances of all the groups, the ball was just not hitting the back of the net.
If Portugal had won the group they would of still been in the same bracket of the draw, the teams that are to blame are England Spain if they had won their groups they would of been in the same side of the draw with Portugal Poland Wales Belgium and Croatia, so lets stop all the BS about Portugal winning 2016 they played who was put in front of them got to the final and won it. congrats to them on winning their first trophy.

Yeaaah watching the match, nice match from us so far :hooray:

Great attacking performance, but we defend badly as a team. We have talent across the board, the 4 Diogos (Costa, Queir?s, Leite and Dalot) at GK and defense, are very good prospects. But we defende badly as a team. Offensively though... Awesome stuff.
