Probably Zanetti followed by Cambiasso. The omission of Milito is stupid but not shocking because he was out for so long. But Demichelis is crap so I don't see how he can go ahead of Gabi anyway..

Not taking Lopez in favour of Palermo struck me as very odd. But then his entire squad selection is very odd. But that one in particular I couldn't see any reason in doing.

Palermo scored the crucial goal in Peru that got them to the WC and save them from being knocked out of qualifying and he scored goals for them in qualfication be sort of wrong not to take him after that tbh
