    Default Javi Martinez?

Catalan newspaper 'Sport' claims that FC Barcelona are keen on signing Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez, who is also wanted by Manchester City and Real Madrid.

The 21 year-old is currently playing for Athletic Bilbao , who were so impressed with him as a teenager that they paid 6 million Euros to sign him aged 17 from Osasuna. Considered an excellent versatile midfielder, he can provide a physical presence as a box to box player or can be utilized as a playmaker behind the strikers.

I don't understand the fuss about him. Is he really THAT good? and how much is he gonna cost?

If Madrid and City are into him then only the sky is a limit.

I'd love to see a bidding war with those two. And I'd love even more for Real to bid 1023910 millions for him and then he's bs.

I suppose, he can be a replacement for leaving Yaya (and buscuets' alternative). 1.90 m height and physically strong enough.

    Yes

He's kind of a Basque Daniele De Rossi, except more badass. In fact, don't be surprised if he ends up displacing Alonso and Biscuits on la Roja.

I'd hate to see that, because Javi Martinez would make Madrid much better.

This is the kid that is responsible for Athletic's revival, and he's only 21.

    Is he Barca material?
If so then I'd rather like him here than Cesc. (taking granted that he'll come cheaper)

Well, he's not as proven on the top tier as Cesc and won't be an instant fit like Cesc, but he has been easily one of the best midfielders in La Liga over the past few years and is probably the best box to box midfielder in Spain.

We can probably get both Mata and Javi for what Arsenal is asking for Cesc. 30m buyout clause on Javi?

Is it definitely only 30M? Remember that Athletic paid 6M for him as a 17 year old with no first team experience, they have correctly known his value since day 1.

I saw it on various websites. Unless they are all quoting it from the same source which got it wrong.

Javi Martinez used to be rubbish, but last season he did really really well and that's what's raised his profile. Especially this goal:

This was his break out season but you could see the signs that it was coming the year before that.

He also scored a cracker in the last match of the season, not as good as that one though.

you think we are indeed looking for both of them?

That would be my wish granted... Mata would fit right in with our squad(of course if as our newspapers predict Ibra is sold!!) and Javi would be the right player to fill in the void left by The Yaya as well as the eventual one by Keiteee!!
