Default Barca takes a bus to Milan

FC Barcelona will have to travel by bus to play Inter Milan in Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg, as the Barcelona airport was closed due to a Volcanic eruption in Iceland earlier this week.

The La Liga leaders will travel in two buses the 634 kilometres to Cannes on Sunday and stay overnight before covering the last 351 kilometres to Milan on Monday.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been forced to change their plans by the cloud of volcanic ash which has been disrupting flights around Europe. Both Barcelona and Milan airports were closed on Sunday.

After Saturday’s 0-0 draw at city rivals Espanyol, Guardiola had played down the significance of a possible road trip to northern Italy.

“It wouldn’t be the best but there are teams from the lower leagues that travel 17 hours by bus,” he told reporters.

“A semi-final is enough to help anyone get over any tiredness.”

Not good but at least they're gonna get some rest in Cannes.

That is not good, we need to be really on top of our game for Tues, all that travelling will have an effect for sure.

    Bus..??? for over 600 kms'..?
    thats like 375 miles trip.

this ash news has been on for almost a week now, the shity part is we could not travel until after yesterday (saturday) for a match on tuesday.

this means the club could've gotten on the bus off from El-prat (saturday night) get to Milan on Sunday evening (rest), train early Tuesday.

imo. could they not book executive Helicopters..?

This is poor logistics outlook. Infact I would opt for a postponement of this 1st leg altogether.
