I didn't look for an English or German version of this story, but this morning I have been reading a tactical analysis of Low's current Germany in one Croatian newspaper, and a paper claims that Low said something along the lines:
= our system which worked in the past is not working anymore in today's era (he is talking about German version of Pep's TikiTaka)
= he says that a system which they won a lot of trophies was good in the past, and that it can be played only if everything (players, motivation, movement, physical skills) is absolutely at 100%. If one ingredient is not perfect, that system (TikiTaka) is not effectual and is actually quite suicidal and counter productive
= he says that playing that type of football (TikiTaka, possession, domination) is extremely risky if you are not at 100% and you are exposed to counters all the time
= he further says that he thinks that a future is moving away from that type of football and playing faster, with less possession
= a text also says that his idea is to move away as far as possible from Pep's ideas (YES, he clearly mentions Pep Guardiola) in the future because it is not working anymore
= as a symbol and a first step in moving away from Pep, he moved Kimmich back to a midfield position, compared to Pep who moved him from midfield to a RB position
= Low said that he regrets that he didn't moved away from Pep's and former German NT system earlier when he realized that it is not working anymore, instead of trying to fix it over and over and return to it's glory days (which are a part of a past)

Interesting.
Of course that I agree with him.
That system and style worked perfectly from 2008-2012, and till 2014 for Germany, but it stopped working on a bigger stage after that (NT Spain, Barcelona, Pep, NT Germany).
It is still a good system against midtable teams though...

I watched documentary "all or nothing - City" and even Pep asks himself i one moment: maybe the system is not good anymore?!

Lmao Low had the best team in the world in 2014 once those players are gone and they dont even have a real striker gasp they struggle.

But Low is right lol the system is failing not the awful squad

Barca in a CL after 2012'
Spain NT after 2012'
Germany NT after 2014'

All of them are failing miserably in the last 4-6 years.
It is hard to believe that Barca's coaches, Spanish NT coaches, German coach are all suddenly stupid.

That system and tactics worked in that period for ALL of them.
And then stopped working for all of them.

What a coincidence, lol

Opponents evolved, figured us out and moved on.
We stayed in the same place, trying to recreate something which was figured out long time ago.

Before someone asks: why are Barca and Pep still winning league championships?
Well, this system is still good enough against Getafe, Levante, Stoke, West Ham and similar.

Against bigger boys, it is sterile and prone to counters (and defeats) for years now.
And some fans here want to move even more back to Pep's era with Messi as a false 9 and Dembele&Malcom as wingers.

2009', here we come again, lol:

Germany hardly ever played tiki taka, even during the 2014 World Cup. Nice to take a few examples and then claim so and so system isn't working, assuming they are the same.

Except we always destroy Madrid lol. We have just had some UCK bad luck that is all. City still nearly went undefeated in the hardest league in the world. The system works.
