Not old enough to watch Romario live, but this match I saw a couple summers ago was just lovely as hell. The Romario-Messi combo?

I remember at 6 years old in brazil, living in the ghetto staying up til 1 in the mourning to watch this dude play in the world cup of 1994, grew into my favorite player of all time real quick. To me the greatest brazilian striker ever, not even ronaldo surpasses him. Its great that he also played for barcelona, a growing trend of brazilians legends coming to barca to grow.

In football, the result is an impostor. You can do things really, really well but not win. There's something greater than the result, more lasting - a legacy.

It's such a shame he didn't play much for us. His calmness in front of the goalie is admirable and his finishing is like an art. You'll never get tired of watching it.

whereas strikers usually look for ways to score.. romarios concerned was only WHERE to score.. a joy to watch. one of the most enjoyable/graceful trikers ever to play.
    kilometers matter ..
