Thread: Ibrahimovic not worried with goal drought

Default Ibrahimovic not worried with goal drought

FC Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed that he is not worried with his recent goal drought.
Swedish international made a good start to the season and by end of the year he had 11 La Liga goals on his tally.

"I'm not worried, same thing already happened to me previosly. In my 1st season at Ajax I started good, then things went downhill, then up again … a rollercoaster," Ibrahimovic told the Catalan press.

"It's natural, because you have little time to adapt to so many things. I had similar experience in Juventus and Inter with ups and downs."

"Obviously, being the striker for FC Barcelona, it's important to score, but I believe there is more. If you are involved in the play and set up team-mates, I feel just as good. And assisting is as important as scoring."

"I'm not concerned with this goal drought and I feel the goals will come eventually. If you play well, you help the team. If you create chances, you score."

If he were a player for my club, I'd be pretty pissed that our record signing doesn't give a shit that he is playing badly and not meeting anything like what is expected of him.

We are definitely in need of some goals from him. Especially in the champions league

In terms of a striker who's playing for the club for more then one year i'd be pretty worried such as henry's case.. However this is a new signing who needs some time to adapt, we saw how some players improved once they adapted well to our system of play and spanish defences. Give him some time

And on top of that we already know that he is able to perform (see: beginning of the season)

Goals are close just see how close he gets every game, only more chances and problem is solved.

I think Ibra has the experience to realise that the goals will come. He had ups and downs before as he says.

I also think Ibra is smart enough not to go out and say he worried about his scoring. Then to find himself awnsering question after next game if he is even more worried etc since he dident score yada yada. Its not a possition you want to be in as a striker. Focus on the good stuff.. Probably the same reason Pep said he thinks Ibra was awsome (or whatever his words were) after Getafe. You dont want your striker to focus on problems.

His awnsers are exactly what i would expect anyone to say in the situation hes in.

Hope he steps up another notch next game.

Until we are winning I am not worried either..
I'll be worried when we start to lose points!
Its funny how everything was roses when we held on to the guns.., just because you're winning don't mean you're the lucky one...

    2 Goals vs Atletico

Then 8 goals versus Stuttgart in both legs, along with Messi and Iniesta.
