The impressive part should have been beating the netherlands - because that doesnt happen often no mather what your name is - but the impressive part in this case is really deserving it. With some margin.

What a performance. Only guy I cant give a great mark is Toivonen - and he actually scored the deciding goal instead. That he should have scored two more just isnt a big deal tonight.

Now this team has to do it with Zlatan on the field. It really is a puzzle. The effect - the speed and hunger - is there when you start him on the bench and let him come in when the team has settled. But if you do it as a gameplan - will the effect be the same (i.e. every player on the field feeling important)? And add to that, how wierd of a tactics would it be to play out a scenario like that on purpose?

Have to highlight the defensive pressure in this game. All over the field - from buildup to box - what a friggin show of aggressive defending. Im tempted to say I havent seen this kind of team work since Lagerbäck, but honestly I dont know if I´ve ever seen such fluidity in the teamplay without the ball from this team. It was sometimes like watching a simulation, not a real game. From the team with individuals that could hardly spot their own ass this last year. Im shocked.

I prefer the football Spain play myself though,the play leading up to Villas goal was amazing.I think Spain play better without Alonso in the team but Alonso adds more cover for the defence when he plays and he is still a brilliant player.

You could argue Spain is boring because they are too good at certain aspects of the game. The primary aspect beeing controll.
Simply put, no team has ever been close to as good at defending as Spain is right now and have been for the last two years.
My personal opinion is that they are way too slow in attack as well, but even without that; when there is no back-and-forth going on (because the other team gets nowhere), the opposing team will allways have a good bunch of players on the right side and everything is stuck in the middle...
