as arsenal have shown, turning good youngsters into good players is not as straightforward as it may seem.

I think liverpool's season is being called a "crisis" because you can hardly claim to be in transition after mounting your first serious title challenge in nearly a decade last year. everyone was talking about how this was gonna be your year. about how you'd kick on from last season, eradicate the draws, and win the league ahead of a united who were apparently not gonna score coz they sold ronaldo and tevez (lol!) and an ageing chelsea squad (lolol!)

the fact that arsenal weren't given a hope in hell, yet are now comfortable in third place, makes liverpool look like a steaming pile of dung. which is quite apt really. you have been so bad this season. like icarus, you flew too close to the sun and are now plummeting back to earth.

Epic fail from Athletic and Villarreal, thankfully Valencia redeemed themselves against the evil Flemish. Amunt!

Villarreal probably wish they kept Matigol.

I think it's really safe to say at this point that Valencia is the better team than Liverpool, funny when you consider how Rafa Benitez was supposed to be the messiah and Valencia was finished as soon as he left. Also funny how Villa and Silva are still in Spain despite Rafa's savy La Liga contacts. Liverpool might have a pretty trophy cabinet but that doesn't really mean much when a bankrupt club that is supposed to be on the decline can play a better game of football at this moment.

The mighty 'udders were the biggest thing going before European competition was even thought of. Their fans still think they're a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge club though, because of all that success in the 20s and 30s.

Huddersfield are a biggish club in relative terms.

Still I had a good fish supper last night.

It's pretty much true though. Valencia needs to sort themselves at the back and they have one hell of a team.

I fear that some player get injuried in this game...
PSG has nothing to play this year, so they will give everything in this single match, while l'OM is still in 3 competitions.

I'm disappointed in Didier so far , first those who left were not replaced with better player (Cana,Ziani > than all the Cisse's he bought )
Than buying Morientes was a tad too much , L'OM used to introduce gems in recent years .. at one time Drogba-Mido was lethal now only Niang is ok (i don't rate Brandao)

Lucho is a breathe or fresh air tbh but the rest was like utter crap , i don't see L'OM making it this year IMO Gerets did a lot better job last season which is a big surprise for me as i thought Didier would do an awesome job seems like his jobless period affected him greatly

Yes, it's always the problem when a new coach arrive : he want to change some players to make HIS team.
But Gerrets team was going very well at the end, Deschamps stoped this ...
But now DD looks like he is changing his mind, he is using Valbuena / Ben Arfa wich is a very good thing for l'OM.
At first, he wanted to sell them !
I don't think l'OM will win the ligue 1, but a second place + the league cup would be nice.
And maybe there is something to try in this Europa League...
