Because he fought back and he was one of the very few players who Real Madrid fans felt proud of having, because of his spirit, heart, behaviour and any other possible value. Mentally, he is a very strong individual and I, as a Real Madrid fan, will miss him, because there is no player who possesses these values apart of Casillas and maybe Ramos and Xabi. VdV will be remembered and missed by many fans, but not necessarily for his matches and performances, but for the qualities that he represented.
If you people do not understand it, fine, you don't have to, but it's the simplest explanation that you can get.

Actually, not in an official match for El Tri...Which basically means, he could still play for either Brasil or La Furia Roja going forward...Making matters even more interesting with JDS is the fact that the Mexican FA has issued what can only be described as a warning to the player...That by skipping these friendlies and concentrating on Barca, he runs the risk of being omitted in the future

Fortunately for JDS, he has options...And considering how dysfunctional the Mexican FA are, he might be wise to weigh his options more carefully for the future
