I was replying to your rather strange point about Bayern mistreating Ribéry, his wife preferring France etc. I'm fully aware of all of the above I was just somewhat confused as to how exactly you were defending Ribéry and making Bayern out to be the bad guys.

well first, i'm not trying to defend ribéry by making bayern out to be the bad guys. IMO there is no "the" bad guy in this case. both parties played their respectiv part and their actions leaded to the following reaction. and that's basically all i was trying to point out. like i said in the beginning to gneg, putting the blame on just ribéry and ribéry only is way to one-sided.

second, i admit that the 2 examples (wife & playmaker role) are very weak to help my point if you just look at the issue itself. sadly, i can't recall more than those two. the basic factor however, is way things happened between bayern and ribéry. they let ribéry get slaughtered by the press for things he didn't do or say. teammates therefore turned against him etc...bayern did nothing to cool things down, why should they??? increases the preasure on the player to stay and if he doesn't he's the bastard as served to the people by the press on a silver tablett. they did nothing to deescalate the situation or offer any sort of clearyfying statement until everything was definitly over. only then, there were official statements as to his injury not being fake, that you have to be fair and understand that a player like ribéry would be tempted by an offer from real madrid etc...suddenly ribéry wasn't that bad anymore. sure, bayern had already forced their will on the player.
