We will get a CM in Arthur. Maybe even 2 since we are all in for De Jong. Thiago can stay where he is. He chose to leave (tho understandable because of dumb Tito not giving him minutes) and he is also very injure prone.

Arthur and De Jong are a long term bet and for sure not immediate solution for our midfield problems. We absolutely need Thiago if we want to improve next season.

We cant say that they are only long term solutions. We must judge players based on their quality, not their age. De Jong is a year older than Busquets was when he became our starter. Players mature at different speeds. Thiago would be nice, but there is no indication that Bayern are ready to offload him for cheap.

agreed. Just play de Jong and Arthur and see what happens. Maybe they are great and start for us.

Yeah lets play Arthur, De Jong and Alena as starters and risk another Messi season. FFS Arthur won't come until January, Alena is injured and will miss entire preseason and De Jong is steel very young and Ajax doesn't wan't to sell for now. If we end up playing Denis Suarez than you guys will probably start crying why we didn't go for Thiago!

If Barca get Thiago, arthur abd de jong then they’ve done it right imo. Two long term options and a short term option and all fit the style of player needed. Thiago injury issues can be mitigated this way

If they are not good enough to start any game, we shouldnt buy them. But they should be good enough. Whats the point otherwise? They cant be simply long term solutions who can play Copa games. Thats not why Umtiti was bought. They are bought so they can play any game. It would be up to them to displace our current starters. We've bought experienced Arda, Vidal, Cesc, Paulinho and others for midfield, and here we are, still trying to find the player that can ensure we dominate midfield.

Bruh we bought Dembele and he had to watch Valverde play Aleix fucking Vidal ahead of him. De Jong could be the next Xavi + Iniesta + Busquets + Jesus Christ himself all combined into one and Valverde would still stick him on the bench for Paulinho.

If we buy De Jong and Arthur to play them in copa and every 15th game and 5 odd minutes in the end of a game here and there, there is no point in buying them.

I agree. I see no point in the argument that these players are only for the long term and only for Copa. Players like that should be bought because they can play any game. Whether that means that we should only target unrealistic superstars and 30 year olds because we think that is what Valverde prefers, is another matter.
