I have my criticisms of Thiago but with the depth at the position now we can afford to take a risk on an injury prone but talented player. He is the profile that is lacking midfield. It allows Arthur time to develop.
If they get him I don’t know how a potential de Jong move would work though. He’s be like ceballos at Madrid, no playtime

So out of those 5 who's your starting 4 in Valverde's 4 man midfield? lol that only leaves one sub.. and like you stated Coutinho won't be always used in midfield.
