Let me guess, Pique is then better than Vidic?

And now is outshining both of them.

You are overrating a good CB because he isn't Senderos, Silvestre, Djourou, Cygan, Stephanovs or Luzhny. Look at the way he got sucked in for both goals, Wenger roasted him, add that to his diving in in the first half when Zlats hit the side netting. He could have single handedly cost you the tie with those 3 mistakes, 2 were punished.

Drobga roasted him twice, United breezed by him and he sucked against us. You can't be called great when you don't do it in the big games. Check Pique's performance in the CL final and the whole of last year 9and his golazo in the burnacow) IMPERIOUS. He is probably one of the first names on the teamsheet, before Puji.

Piqué's way better than Vermaelen, no doubt about that.
    Lemmi explained it perfectly.

The only thing Vermaelen has over Vidic is pace, he makes more stupid decisons, is not as dominating in the air and is positionally not as good.

http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/04/...tional-errors/ Pretty much backs up what I said. He's a very good defender and if he stopped making stupid decisions then he would be up there with the best.

They don't make shit up like the Sun or Daily Mail, but are much quicker to jump at rumours than BBC or Sky Sports.

Thanks. His name has been on mundo deportivo for a few days now, while sport says we're after Agger...

Quite a few other papers are jumping on this "United vs Barca" rumour for Vermaelen's signature. Either way, one thing is for sure: Wenger was forced to sell RVP to United, and now that we have money he will never let that happen again. Would've sold him to Juve if they weren't offering 8 mil at the time.

No disrespect of course, but if he isn't good enough for Arsenal, he shouldn't be good enough for Barca, simple as that.

It's not that he's not good enough, it's that he got injured for a year. During that, Wenger signed Mertesacker who formed a great partnership with Koscielny. Both rarely get injured, so Vermaelen had to sit on the bench. There's no reason to rock the boat, even if he is captain. Also, he's in the last year of his contract and wants to play.

If he was really this crap player, then I wouldn't be worried about him going to Man United. The moment he settles and gets on the same wavelength with another CB, he'll be back to his best. I'll never forget that immense season he had in 09. Defended brilliantly, scored headers, scored free kicks, and won us many points. There's a reason he was made captain after Cesc and RVP
