Btw. Saw some headlines and was wondering did Laporta really say that Barca shouldn't have appointed Tito in the first place?

He said naming tito as a head coach was a hasty decision, And he wasn't ready for it, He needed a time to adapt (4 years as an assistant manager apparently isn't)
A good way to summaries all of his current statements and future ones:
What ever decision this board makes, Just say the opposite.

Yes. Laporta has stated on numerous occasions that Tito was the wrong choice and that he is/would not be able to continue the work of Pep. Basically what I and other users have stated. That the appointment of Tito was/is just a cheap version of what Pep had in store. The problem is that the era of Pep has ended. The team needed a new direction after Pep left and I guess this is what Laporta and many others have tried to point towards.

What results? The guy has not defeated RM once. The only real rival in the league. The sole reason for us winning this league is the absurd performances of Messi and the early slips of RM. The latter already renounced the league title last year!

Everywhere else he failed. In the Supercopa, Copa del Rey and now the CL. The latter a humiliating defeat and the worst performance in a semifinal tie in 30 years in the CL/European Cup.

That might sound spoilt during a transition year but this team nor squad is normal so we fans have the right to demand better performances overall than this.

What is even more worse is that I have rarely enjoyed seeing this team play this season and I am far from the the only one with that opinion.

Yes he did said rosell appointed him out of fear because he didn't want to chance hiring someone else and they failed, also said pep warned rosell about tito's health issues.

Last he also said they should have hired someone at least until the end of the season when Tito was out to give him some good time to recover

Also says: "The squad needs to be strengthened, but we don't need a revolution. There's a solid foundation, with many young players."

Someone obviously forgot to send a memo to Bartra, Montoya and Tello.

Add Thiago to that list.

. Under Pep Guardiola in the 2011-12 season, Thiago played 2,866 minutes – more than regular starters Pedro, Piqué, and Alexis – and Cuenca played 1,811. By comparison, this season (with 5 games, or 450 minutes, left to play), Thiago has played only 1,698, and Cuenca’s replacement, Cristian Tello, has played only 1,344. Meanwhile, Montoya and Bartra, our young defenders – arguably the rarest type of player La Masia produces – have played 1,375 and a measly 622 minutes, respectively. Even if all four players from the “Class of ’91″ start all five of the remaining Liga games (which they won’t), Tito will have given his youth far less playing time than Pep did.

Mind-blowing is it not? Especially considering the fact that we basically sealed the league title last year already. Use those stats and compare them with Tito's comments about the youth as recently as today....

We should not defend him. It is unacceptable for the team to be defeated 0-7 when it still has Messi, Xavi & Iniesta. I also believe that Tito has misused Cesc all the time, turning him from a first-class player into a cheap one. Tito has sabotaged Tiki-taka too. He must go because of his poor job.

Well obviously he isnt going to say they need a new starting eleven when We havent even won the league yet. What matters is what actually happens in the summer and you can only valuate that when it actually happens.

Vilanova counts on Victor Valdes for next season, but the board wants to sell him. He has one year left on his contract. [el pias]
Barcelona have a deal with Dortmund to sign centre back Mats Hummels (24) for 25M, but Vilanova didn't yet give his approval. [sport]
Reina, plus younger goalkeeper next year, is Barcelona's main plan to replace Valdes. He would be allowed to leave Liverpool for 10M. [md]

Vilanova: "Messi is one of the players who finishes the season physcially in great form, the only problem is the injury he had."
Vilanova: "It's very difficult to find players who fit in. You see them at another team and you think they could, but here it's different."
Vilanova: "Busquets and Messi can play? They have trained today, but we'll see how they do tomorrow."
Vilanova: "The squad needs to be strengthened, but we don't need a revolution. There's a solid foundation, with many young players."
Vilanova: "Cesc exit rumours? He's a quality player. It was difficult to find a spot for him, but he's doing good and can be a key player."
Vilanova: "Player (Pique) saying changes are needed? Guess that player doesn't expect him to be among the changes, right?"
Vilanova: "Physically, we're not doing bad, but we've had injuries and we faced a team, Bayern, in an incredible form."
Vilanova: "When are Mascherano and Puyol expected back? There's no date set, we'll see how the recovery goes."

Out man...we need him out.
