Staring XI for argentina at the last WC

    ----------Pato

    ---Burdisso---Ayala--Heinze---Sorin

    -----------Masch---Cambiaso

    ----Maxi-------------------Roman

    --------------Saviola---Crespo

    Expected XI for this WC

    ------------------Remero

    -----?--------Demi----Heinze---?

    ----Maxi----Masch----Veron----Di maria

    --------------Messi----Higuain

Not much difference, apart from ayala marshaling the defense, argentina was probably the best team at the last WC, this team would be lucky to get pass the last 16, why because of a shitty coach.

They won't start with Maxi, no way, unless Maradona is an idiot...Oh wait...

They also shouldn't start with Veron, but they will.

D.Milito has been shite for his NT so far - 4 in 21 App.
Same with Tevez - 8 in 51 App
Both should be left out tbh.
I'd take Higuain, Lopez, Aguero over them. But, Argentina do lack worldclass CFs. What about Cavenaghi? He was gr8 for U-20s but hasn't appeared much for the senior side. Hows he doing at Bordeaux currently? He could be an option.

    This would be my team...(4-2-3-1)

Zanela, you legend, amazing team. That would be mine too. Aprt from putting Milito (our Milito) in the defence somewhere.

Kinda agree with the general selection especially the DM's but you cannot leave Zanetti out , the man is a machine and consistent in his displays .
Mascherano should be stripped of the badge and Zanetti should lead this team with experience .
Milito after last night has a big chance as well over Demi or Walter ..
Di Maria or Perotti on the left both are pretty good

    Zabaleta-----Demichelis/Milito----Samuel-----Ansaldi
    -----Cambiasso-----Banega------
    ------------------Aimar---------------
    Messi-----------Tevez------Higuain

To leave out Tevez is pretty foolish considering his form.

"Just because I don't watch La Liga, it doesn't mean I don't know who the players are."
Someone questions whether Guillem Laporta is a good player.
"I don't know him.... He'll be another crap player. "

    Tevez doesn't score of argentina.

the mere fact that milito is fit and will play a few more games before the season ends, puts him ahead of Samuel who coach after coach doesn't seem to rate.

I would take these 4 defenders

    Milito
    Samuel
    Garay
    Demi

oh definitely. Zanetti is a machine. He is consistent and has been immense for Inter this season. But, he is such a quiet and subdued character. It works well for his club where he is one of the most respected figures not only for his 15 yrs of dedication and commitment but his excellence on the pitch. But on the Intl level, i feel this Argentina side need a fiery inspiring leader. Someone who commands respect and feared, one who can motivate and lead this disjointed team to victory. I just don't see that in him. Although, i was one of those wanting him as a captain but his recent performances for them changed my stance. Individually, he is great but as a leader NO. He has a very shy demeanour which won't work for this Arg side.
But he should definitely me in the squad not only for his experience but he still has much to offer even at his age.

And yeh, i forgot Milito...I'd say a Milito-Demi would be a good CB pair.

To leave out Tevez is pretty foolish considering his form.
Zabaleta has been horrendous. Ask Blueduck. He lacks pace, reckless tackling & poor positioning. His late challenges has either got him sent off or given away loads of fks that 've cost them points. He is one of City's weak link at the back. But Mancini loves his Argentines.
Tevez is overrated. He is rubbish for his National side. Which decent striker scores 8 in 51 app? He never delivers for them even when he is doing well for his club....Also very inconsistent. He seem to be struggling to score recently just like i'd predicted in the PL thread a while ago when everyone else seemed mesmerised by the caveman's goal-scoring form.
Tevez should stay in Manchester come June.

Is Garay any good? Beast doesn't seem to rate him. I'd take gonzalo rodriguez over him.
