Is this true? They appointed Maradona as their manager?

Yup, it´s official. Not a good choice IMO. Just because he was a good player does´nt mean he´s the perfect choice for manager, and him and Messi do not really have an excellent relationship at the moment.

It`s an erratic choice imo. So much talented players and yet no quality managers

Yup, they're going from bad to worse. Sergio Batista would have been a better choice IMO, he won the Olympics recently and he knows the Argentinian players, he would also know which young players have the potential to be in the senior squad. Maradona just recently made some comments about Messi being a selfish player Etc. So appointing someone who has disputes with the squad players, or prefers one over does'nt really create a good group.

Maradona was a great player. But he proved, time and time again, that he`s not the smartest person, to say the least

He'll probably rely on his assistants.

Maradona names Mascherano his new team Captain.

Some reports are saying Maradona could quit the job even before playing his first game. He's having arguments with AFA president over who should be his assistant.

Messi and Riquelme are definatley out of the Scotland match.

A win for Maradona on his debut. Still, somehow I don`t think he`ll last very long.

When Milito is back from injury, they'll have a strong defensive line alongside Demichiles maybe?

Maradona recentley caused a fire alarm in one of the hotels in England where he was staying on tour (he was attending the ManU - Chelsea match), anyways he was smoking a cigar which according to the fire fighters led the fire alarm. Eventually 200 people had to be evacuated from the hotel until things were sorted out. The Chelsea team players were also staying at the hotel before playing the match and were rushed out with only their robes on at tempratures near 0 ..

    Great work Maradona
