he doesn't need to ease in more steadily. he did just fine in the bundesliga + ucl for dortmund at 19-20. he doesn't need another season rotting on the bench behind willian because "he doesn't track back enough"

I would prefer the 4-3-3. Willian would be useful for that setup too seeing as there aren’t enough wingers in the squad.

Valverde's 4-4-2 is like a commander who has a tank and tries to make it faster by leaving out the ammo so that it can run away from an army humvee.

It's a tank idiot, you just point at the humvee and shoot. Problem solved.

Instead of refining our attacking game and build deadly attacks with great passing, let's just bring in guys who run a lot and defend well so we can maybe hold on better when we face Roma again.

Those numbers will improve at barca. He is surrounded by more technical players, not the likes of Kante and zappacosta.

He's 30 years old. He's not going to improve significantly.

Same was said about Coutinhos numbers not being good enough.

He would get a lot more than that is playing at Barca with any regularity.

Horrible, just horrible. And that’s without pointing out that many of those goals are from FKs. Something that he won’t even get to try here.

The price is the only objection I have to this transfer. As a player he is good and fits well to the squad imo. A cheaper and possibly younger (less important as Dembele is coming through) alternative would have been better.

Coutinho is a midfielder that is in his mid 20s who had more than good enough numbers for an attacking midfielder.
