Roberto on the wings is dangerous for one reason we are slow already as hell. Did you realise how many times alba is saving our life with his speed? Semedo is strong and fast so he fits our style better even he sucks when it comes to provide danger in the final third.

I am not a fan of either but we are already slow and predictable so we need someone who can stop counterattacks. Roberto is not the man for this job....

Fraudverde is prob waiting for roberto to prove he is 0 defensively as a rb in ucl..huesca scoring 2 times on his behalf is fake news

I despair at Valverde playing Roberto at RB !!

Roberto must have some incriminating photos of Valverde- it's the only explanation:)

more pique's fault than roberto, both times they scored pique was doing god knows what instead of intercepting or man marking.
i doubt semedo would be able to mark two players at once.

Don't know how much time this farce will keep going. Seing him on the pitch completely clueless weekend after weekend have become truly tiresome.

He’s good in the passing game but defensively he’s atrocious.

Liability. Either he or Pique needs to be benched. When they both play our right side is fragile.

Well, if we play Roberto, we play with 10 men in defense and with 11 men in attack.
If we play Semedo, we play with 11 men in defense and 10 men in attack.

And since Barcelona is always attacking like 70-80% of every match, maths is quite simple.
Against smaller teams where we are attacking all the time, a ratio of Roberto's Pros and cons is way better than Semedo's.

On the other hand, in a CL, that is a different story...
And whether Semedo will have confidence and chemistry in big CL matches, that is a good question.
But then, we can't play Semedo too much against smaller teams because we will suffer way more in attack.

So, EV is doing right choices at the end of a day :valverde2:

Semedo will need to play from time to time, though.

The mythical attacking ability of Roberto gets mentioned once again. The definition of mediocre.

We concieded twice against bloddy Huesca because of mainly him and Pique. One of them needs to be benched. If we want to play Pique, he needs to have a defensive minded full-back next to him. If we play Roberto, he needs a CB, who is better 1 on 1 next to him.

As things stand now, I would go for Roberto with Lenglet-Umtiti CB pairing.

Just can't fit him and Pique together.

Both share a number of similar problems of being weak in 1v1 defending and aren't really fast. Well Roberto isn't the slowest but he doesn't have that explosiveness either. With Roberto already being weak on the defensive end you are having to rely on Pique to help cover for him and he's bad these days.

For Roberto is if you have to have a different CB compared to Pique to cover him. One that is not only strong in 1v1 duels but one that is good at covering Wide areas. and with Pique he needs to be next to a RB who can defend.

Just playing both together isn't a good option anymore honestly.
