The only thing Rafa really brought with him to Valencia was his wacky rotations. The squad was assembled by Raineri and Cuper, same with the tactical emphasis on defense. He just modified the successful system Cuper had in place.

    what happened to cuper?

possibly one of the most underrated coaches of all time.

Cuper is super crap who know nothing except forming a strong defense line ..

Cuper doesn't know how to adjust...he'd make a great defensive specialist assistant coach. However at Valencia he was at the right place at the right time. Say what you want about him being overrated (and he's been nothing but a flop since leaving Valencia), he did more to build that team than Benitez did.

Raineri doesn't get enough credit for building that squad...as a coach he was a tactically poor fit for La Liga but he did a lot to develop that squad in the late 90's and Cuper and Benitez more or less continued his work. His second try was a disaster though.

For the last time Cuper was leading Georgia and I remember that we won with 6:2 against them in Sofia

    News from the RIbery tale:

He doesnt want to go to Chelsea. He demands a 5-year contract regardless where he will go. And besides Bayern he only sees a potential future in either Madrid or Barcelona.

maybe he demands 5 years because he knows he won't last for that long.
he might get injured a lot and he will know for sure he will be somewhere for 5 years.
and he will be too expensive to be bought over.

but i thought 5 years is a normal contract length..sometimes even more.
i remember denilson in 1998, 10 year contract, and biggest flop ever! lol
only knows how to do step overs

you may laugh at denilson but he and rivaldo both bagged goals against al-ittihad in the ACL, and denilson got 2 in their next game too.
