It's hilarious how every year we are all expecting a fire sale at Valencia which never happens. All Fernando said was that they can't keep all their players forever, and that if they want to make any notable buys there needs to be sales as well. Valencia is not out of the red financially, but they aren't going to sell their 2 most well known players for 40 pounds, sorry.

If anyone wants Villa or Silva, they will be paying Ibra/Kaka-like prices. Valencia isn't the only club in debt right now.

garbage.com is what it is...it's not a legitimate source however it's not a tribal football-esque site that openly makes things up, they credit most of their stories to other media source and is merely an English language database of football news. This story comes from the Daily Mail, which like every other English tabloid has proven time and time again that they genuinely believe all players are trying to get traded to the Premiership.

Demy de Zeeuw is pretty much promising to be as good a mid-fielder, AZ definitely seem to be missing the player & Ajax seemingly made a coup in buying him!!!
With all those stats that's what I tried to point out that signing a defensive mid-fielder is unnecessary, because we already have the best in the business & a promising player, who already gained some top-flight football experience, learning under him
I think a box-to-box mid-fielder, who can step into Xavi's shoes when needed or allows Iniesta to do so by playing in an advanced position, is needed to have the required squad depth and save the already thin line-up from fatigue during ACN. Hernanes, imo, is just that I think that Dima is just the type of signing you have mentioned, some one who adds depth to both backline & mid-field... But it's just me!!!
Obviously the first preference should be a LW signing & I think Suarez or Zarate would be great. Mata is impossible I guess
I like your thinking, we don't need Xavi-lite aka Cesc, we need a multi-dimensional midfielder. Guddy is actually missed this year in that he could both distribute and hold onto the ball but was immobile limiting his effectiveness, however a more dynamic player who might not be Xavi-quality as a playmaker but can both playmake and also take some of the defensive pressure off would be perfect. Maybe the true Valencia target we should be looking at is Ever "The Webcam"..

I`m just telling you what we agreed on and instead of just deleting the link I took the time to explain it like I did for the X times through PMs or on the forum. It was actually not my idea but I fully agree with it.
garbage.com is the worst as they come across as the reputable source and they actually make up the worst stories as the example I mentioned.

I thought about that, too. I guess Torres is still pretty much inspired and fired up in Liverpool (assuming that it's his second season there), but if Liverpool don't start winning silverware, it could easily affect his motivation to continue there, IMO.

No matter how much he loves Liverpool or not (we all know about his YNWA armband in Atletico), he's not a homegrown player like Gerrard or Carra, who're ready to remain at Anfield until their last days, even if they're actually don't winning anything.

And if most of the Liverpool fans don't believe that he could want to move, they should remember what Thierry Henry did 2 years ago, just because of his dream of winning the Champions League, something he considered as impossible in Arsenal. And it was obvious how strong was his connection with this club, maybe most of the gunners didn't really believe that he would force a move.

And if Torres decides to leave, I don't really see any other options in front of him than coming back to Spain. I'm sure he would refuse to move to clubs like Chelsea or United, because of his respect to the L'pool fans, and Seria A doesn't look like very fascinating place for a player of this calibre nowdays. Which leads him to two major options: Barca and Madrid. And if we take into account his past in Atletico .....

Torres expressed his wish to stay in England for some more time, before moving to Italy... He said he wants prove his worth in all of the 3 best football countries. Even if he comes back to Spain it has to be Barcelona as I see it, he'd never go to Real Madrid & he's too big a player now for other clubs I suppose

My question to some of the more experienced folks like Bojan, Cule Angles, Diegomessi, Evil, etc... Is it true that we can't sign a player from the Liga in January who's already had more than 5 appearances in the season!? If it indeed is true, then that is one shit, dumb rule!!! What if clubs from other countries snatch players, who are in our radar, right from under our nose!? (read Juan Mata here)

You could hardly see any big transfers to happen during the January transfer window. (read Juan Mata here)

Valencia are an ambitious team and if they decide to sell, they'll certainly not do it in the middle of the season.

For one big clubs like ManUtd could definitely offer huge prices for such highly talented players & say 22-25mill, which though is high for a player like Mata right now, would definitely be an offer that they can't refuse!!! Instead of losing Silva, who's proven and still young, they would sure like to cash in on a young prospect... And 22mill is way too high for Mata who'd have been valued at 15mill during last summer!!!
And many Russians would be available in January for a loan signing... Say, for example, if they are able to sign some one like Danny Miguel on loan, sure Valencia would like to cash in on Mata. ManUtd & Liverpool both are in such a dire need of wingers they would be ready to bid high, though Pool imo can't afford him Mata right now!!! Chelsea are gonna be missing Mikel, Essien, Drogba & Kalou during ACN... If they some how get their ban post-poned, would be interested to buy in-form Mata who comes way too cheaper than Aguero! Inter do need some width as well!!
I'd say never strike off a possibility... And you still didn't give an answer to my original question

That's true and it's a good rule. It's placed under competition fraud if it were otherwise (though this rule is not applied in other competitions)

Say if we buy Mata, can we use him for CL & Copa? He'll be ineligible to play for us only in League is it? Though, that won't help us because we need a player immediately for all competitions I suppose

now way we but somebody we cant play in the league, we need to rest the top players for the CL and big games in la liga. i think we just need a midfield player who is versitile and he or ineista can push up to forward when needed, + i think we need to give GDS some time with the first team.

Not sure about Copa but we would be able to use him for the CL. You can have one player play in the CL who has already played Europa League for another squad in the same season.
But yea, it would be a total waste of money.

Well, I know about the Europa League ruling Or else Suarez, Willian, etc rumors are all pointless... And I still think Madrid would have been better off choosing Hunter for CL rather than Diarra, well past is past!!

Villa and Torres would both be wasted at LW.

Break the bank and get Ribery, then they may as well give us Liga trophy.

How would Villa be wasted at LW? He constantly drifts outside to the left for Spain, its one of the places where he's most dangerous.
