Along with Kaka & Ronaldo - Madrid are also closing in on Xabi Alonso ( player exchange plus cash) and Cliche from Arsenal ( £15 million) and the other Brazil right back Maicon !!

Ribery and David Villa are near certainties .

They will be the seven players that they talked about - now WE get to choose from the ones they didn't fancy buying and the ones that are not good enough for their NEW team !!

I don't really feel like posting these days because on the one hand you get culés panicking about not signing big-name players for ridiculous fees, and on the other you get panicky culés attempting to hide their fear by Madrid-bashing... We've just come off the back of the treble and the transfer market hasn't even opened yet. We don't need to rebuild and we don't need to pull a Madrid. Which might not even work cause you can't always throw stars into a team like that. Sure it's depressing to hear that favourites such as Ribéry and Villa are getting away from us, and I hate it because those are the two signings I would have wanted most personally. But if you think about it, if they're really going for 60 million euros and other such fees, is it really something that we want? Barca messed up in the transfer market. Or at least it seems like that right now. While Madrid were president-less, we couldn't make a bloody move. But now that that's been done and dusted, we can't take every transfer rumour and put all our hopes in it, only for it to be blown by other potential bullcrap transfer rumours. We have to accept what has happened, that some huge mistakes have been made. We will find our own solutions. We have a world class squad and we will sign the right refreshments for the right positions. And chances are we will end up missing some of our top targets. But in that case, let's just be a bit more PTC and put our faith in the players that won us the treble. It's Pep now and not Frank, and that changes things a lot.
Ultimately, as culés, we have to accept our shortcomings in the transfer market. Transfer blunders have been more common over the past how many years than transfer successes. And Madrid, Chelsea, United et al have always gotten bigger names and better individual signings. But the difference is that we have that core of players committed to the club, plus the one or two good signings, and finally some very competent squad players who pull us through and win for us. And we have our philosophy, our wonderful managers and our history. So let's stop acting like we're Madrid and everything is possible. It's just no good. For Barca, it will always be "silly season" as CA put it. We have to be realistic as fans during the summer, not dreamy and overly hopeful.
Barca fans such as CA hate the transfer season because they know what it's like, historically, to be a Barca fan. It's the autumn, winter and spring that bring us most joy, and hardly the summer. But let's accept that, and try to be positive!

Athough it is Madrid that we should be worrying about to be honest !!

They seem to be near to completing on 7 MAJOR signings wheras WE have lost Silvinhio ( spelling) and two younger squad players already - Toure , Eto'o and Valdes have uncertain futures and there is speculation that Man City will bid for Henry and maybe Eto'o . Also we lose at least two players for two months to the African NAtions cup .

That is why I am a little concerned !!

    I just LOVE BARCELONA !!!!

I wish I could Beef, it's that I can't though. I have no doubts at all about our team and what they can achieve but the way management is handling this right now is fucking stupid and it will come back and bite us on the arse. Just because we are historically shit at summer transfers is no reason to continue being shit at summer transfers, we pull the finger out while our biggest rivals are making massive progress. We haven't hit our peak as a team, get Ribery and Villa and you'll see a truly, truly world beating team who I think can reign for many years and bring us fantastic football. I don't understand how people can be so chill about this, it's all well and good for Laporta to say he's bringing in "4 or 5 players of the highest quality", but the players of the highest quality who also happen to fit our system like glove could be lost to fucking madrid. Fuck this complacency.

    I hate transfer windows -.-

All this talk of us offering Eto for Mascherano is pissing me off.

We should be offering Eto'o+Hleb+Milito+20 million for Fernando Torres.

I think we should keep Eto'o.... Also I might be crazy but I don't really worry about RM next year, because I know that we're the better TEAM. And that should be enough...

I have my doubts. Seems like you think about Real Madrid 24/7.

We might be getting Eto'o if we are willing to pay him 1 million Euros a month.

It's News Of The World though

I had a feeling Eto'o was on his way to City but that feeling has passed. I'm pretty sure it won't happen now.
