Villarreal announced their new coach is now former youth team/B team coach Julio Velázquez.

He's done a great job at lesser levels but has no experience in high end football management. He's also younger than a lot of their players (He's the same age as David Villa ffs)

They should get Marcos Senna as player-manager!

Interesting, Nihat returned to Villarreal as an assistant coach for the B team.

This is old news but I only just discovered this, nice to see them keep a relationship with their former players.

Plus Nihat was awesome for them, he was part of their players who helped them cement their status in the League. Unfortunate what happened to them recently but at least they aren't in debt. They just need to grab a sponsor, badly.
May permanent peace be brought to the Arab world. My heart goes out to the families of those who have lost loved one(s). I wish and hope those who are creating religious, racial, regional, and tribal divisions among/within the Arab nations would be defeated in their quest for the destruction of the Middle East.

Nihat was actually only awesome for one year, his other two years he was horribly unlucky resulting in major injuries and 0 goals.

But they had some damn awesome players pass through their ranks in those days. This situation sucks because the Segunda is even more of a financial black hole than other second divisions but Roig has managed the clubs finances nicely.

Just when I needed another reason to love Villarreal, Mellberg will eat the Segunda alive.

I don't quite understand why Mellberg's going to the Segunda...
