Messi and him shouldn’t play together. Need a real winger there. Trincao or Dembele.

Worked well enough so far in structure of team and can see what they are trying to do just Griezmann been shit in ball too often.

Dembele particularly wont give same work rate or make same attacking runs into box.

Worth perservering a bit yet before Dembele/Trincao start as doesnt look like Koeman wants a pure winger role there anyway.

User Riordon explained in another topic:
Messi wants a ball in his feet.
Coutinho wants a ball in his feet.
Trincao wants a ball in his feet.

If you field those three, there will be less movement, in theory.

When you field Cou+Messi with Fati-Griezmann/Dembele, you have 2 creators who demand the ball in their feet and 2 guys who are making good runs and opening space (while creators have the ball in their feet).
Cou-Messi-Trincao seems as too similar players on paper.

There is an unwritten rule in football: don't change a team who is winning.

EV thought the same vs. Liverpool by keeping Rakitic, Busquets and Coutinho starting after the 3-0 first leg win and we all know how it ended after the second leg...

Trincao does a lot of off-ball movement and many good runs on the wing aswell as offering defensive support, Coutinho also moves a lot and takes good positions to receive the ball. It's just Messi who walks and waits for the ball.

Less movement? What games have you been watching?

Played 10 men without Griezmann, there's still loads of movements and runs.

And if he is continually shit in front of goal as a CF or RW, we will suffer just as much. It will only add to more wasted chances. And he slows down the attack with his safe passes and back passes, not wanting to drive the ball during counter attacks, little to no pace, the list goes on and on.

Nothing to indicate that Griezman makes better runs than Trincao. Concrete evidences to indicate that the later is better on the ball though. Anyhow, i can get that you don't change line up as long as it wins and there are two weeks of break coming up anyway.

Despite Griezman continuing to be mostly ineffective and Busquets being trash, they are both starting again. I'd hate to be Pjanic, join Barca and sit on the bench while a player who has been garbage for years now starts over me.

I don't see Griezman magically turning into the type of player we need on the wings, while Trincao and Dembele have exactly those qualities. Just because Trincao likes the ball at his feet doesn't mean he can't attempt to make just as many runs into the box as Griezman does. The other players at least are younger and have potential to be what we need...Pjanic is just straight up superior to Busquets in every way.

No such rule. Only rule is reward players who play well. Griezmann hasnt proved much till now. Winning because of certain players contributing much more offensively than the rest. Anyway we could win some la liga games, but when it comes to tougher matches like the CL, we always shit our pants.

By your logic we won many games with Suarez, so he should have started every match then.

Was going to say similar. Trincao has shown very good movement off the ball.

But it's too early to drop Griezmann for him. Long season and short turnover of games. He will get his opportunities to start and is ahead of Dembele so will also be subbed almost every game.

A good position to be in from what was a questionable signing at time of purchase.
