Great result for us. Unfortunately Real won on xG though, just awaiting confirmation of what this means for tonights league table.

Reminds me of the "alternate" PL table Scousers used to keep on RAWK. The one "correcting" for referee bias that they always won, while United won the actual trophy.

Why don't we wait a bit, see the new tactics, also see the new things that will be implemented in the team on a constant basis once Messi is gone. It's not that black and white. Depends who you replace him with.

Sure, there could be several scenarios and possibilities, but the most likely (IF Messi leaves) in my opinion would be that Koeman is given another season with no major shift and changes in tactics and we will utilize the existing players we have, Fati, Griezmann, Dembele etc. without a major signing. While I am one of the proponents of Messi leaving for the sake of the rebuild and us moving forward, I can't deny the absolutely pivotal role Messi plays in our attacking game, both in terms of scoring goals and creating chances.

But again, it is a period that will have to go through, whenever he decides to leave.

Atletico are still the favorites though, they are up 5 with one much less.Even if they lose against RM,they'll potentially still be up 5 if they win their extra match.

We are too inconsistent to win the title,I mean we drew to fucking Cadiz the other day. To win this league we'll have to win both Madrid derbies and almost every other match, which is nearly impossible. Let's see if we can beat Osasuna next week first

You're welcome
What happened to Atleticos defense that had gotten praised continuously? They only conceded 6 goals less than us and played one game less.

Those are indeed the hardest games on paper. But if there's anything this years league has taught us, it's that opponents doesn't matter, and home/away is practically irrelevant. And this goes for all 3 top teams.

Cadiz for example lost both games against Atleti conceding 4 in both, but in 3 games against Barca and Madrid they haven't lost a single one.

Let's hope that run continues for the rest of the season.

RM won on xG, but have had some wins that should have been draws a few times, so luck was fair to them this time around...

Looking at this, I will definitely prefer Atleti to win next weekend.
It's more important to kick RM out of the title race as early as possible. When they have no motivation they slip vs mediocre sides, whereas when they have motivation they don't...
Plus, If Barca is in the title race against Madrid, we have less chances, compared to being in the race against Atleti. Unfortunately since last season we are psychologically underdogs in a face to face race

Especially given how cagey Atleti plays lately, and their schedule...
They have more games to play, some of them I don't think they will win (for example 2 games against Bilbao I see them losing or/and drawing), and have more tricky games that others : Sociedad at home for example the penultimate fixture. That's a good case of a game where they might possibly bottle to lose the league, whereas Madrid at home against Villarreal in the corresponding fixture, they will never bottle if a win means winning the league.
