Apart from Klopp and Guardiola, who are the rest of the best managers? And which players are the face's of the Premier League. La Liga is a better league imo, Premier League defences are crap apart from Liverpool's and with Van Djik potentially out for a while, they will struggle too.

Klopp and Pep being the 2 best managers then you have Ancelotti, a CL winning manager at Everton. Mourinho may not be a top manager these days but hes entertaining and has history atleast.

maybe the defending has gone to shit in the PL but that makes it even more entertaining imo.

PL is leaving la liga in the dust in all departments. it used to just be the financial side whilst la liga produced the quality players and played the beautiful football but now even my country (England) are producing some amazing players

People are so on the Ancelotti hype train, it's nauseating.

Get a grip with the 'best coaches all in EPL' argument. Several stretches last season people rated Lampard and Arteta as the next coaching Jesus'. EPL has 2 consistently good managers, 1 of them proving to be very flawed. Then there are 2 at 'lesser' clubs trying to revitalise their prestige and a bunch of unknowns with lots to prove. It's really not that different to other leagues.

Dunno. Watched Betis-Sociedad tonight and football quality was higher than in any of the EPL matches i took a glimpse at the weekend. Was some funny shit like Chelsea and Tottenham match so + for entertainment. Also i think the second tier average Joe Bollock manager in PL is no better than mid table la liga one, just couple of famous names shifting the tide. CL will show the better picture.

It leaves it in the dust financially but that's about it. Quality of football is higher in Spain, you seem to have fallen for the hype.

I'm not having Ancelotti or Mourinho either, they are no longer elite managers which is why they are managing Everton and Spurs.

People still believing LaLiga>Premier League, I have news for you:
My calendar says 2020 already. Wake up!
Premier League has been by light years the best league the last 5 season to say the least. It was already better than all other major European Leagues, but
since Klopp joined Liverpool, Pep joined City, Conte joined Chelsea, and Poch joined Spurs, the question become a non-issue.
The best managers developed the most cutting edge tactical approaches in the league with the most money, and the whole thing skyrocketed.
It's not about unpredictability and crazy scores. Germany had much crazier scores and turnarounds until recently. And it has become pretty predictable the last 3 yrs with Liverpool-City resembling Barca-RM in terms of who is going to win it.
It's about the best football, which is played weekend in weekend out there.

We have clearly seen how superior the English teams have been in the last 5 seasons in the CL and EL.

The premier league does have a few more teams that are Sevilla level but very few that are actually elite clubs. Liverpool is probably the only elite at the moment with city looking likely to not achieve anything this year because of defensive issues.

- Man utd: next joke pls
- Spurs have a very limited squad and are mentally weak
- Chelsea bought way too many players all in one window, who knows how good they will be, probably won't hit their heights for a couple of seasons.
- Arsenal meh
- Leicester meh

Premier league teams have very average quality squads but have the money to sign a star player so they just appear to be higher quality than they are. Look at Everton, everyone thinks they're amazing because of a recent run of form but it's being massively amplified because James Rodriguez is there and Ancelotti. Take away the fact a couple of players have a high rating on fifa and you've got yourself teams equivalent to Villareal.

True. Premier League is also the most overrated league. They have quality yes, but also English players always get overrated because the media hype.

I do think they are improving and their football. Spanish is leaving behind if they don't improve things.

There are still more young talent coming from spanish teams than in England. That's why they are scooping up a lot of them and there are hardly any really world class english players setting the tone in there league. It's nominally stronger, because of greater buying power, but rarely any club there becomes great franchise because of that.

So sure someone would bring that up.

We have to repeat football's ABC here all the time for you people: Cup competitions do not yield the team which is superior. Neither in general, not in each particular tie.
Liverpool last year were like a million times better than Pathetico, still they went out because guess what? Not the best team wins a knock out tie.
If you manage to just get that straight, you will make your way to the truth of things.

Or else, you can try a thought experiment:
Imagine Barca and RM taking part in the EPL the last seasons instead of the bottom two clubs.
Try to work out how many points they would get and what position they would finish.

They'd be just fine. Edged by Pool, but against second and lower tiers easy pickings even with declined teams. Scoring would be so much easier than against bottom la liga teams. Even Griezman would shine.

But surely with their cutting edge tactical approaches they would have been the much superior teams in the CL over a big sample size ? Yet that isn't the case
