Looks like the Spanish FA are considering a suspension of all league football for an indefinite period.

I'd rather see games behind closed doors than total suspension

Sure, but I don't think the players will want to put themselves at risk for the purpose of entertainment while the rest of the world sit in their couches at home.

Plus how fun is it to play in an atmosphere of a training ground? I'm sure the players would just like for everything to be suspended as well.

Will they be at risk? I mean they will probably just be at as much risk anywhere else they go. Unless your proposing nobody is allowed leave their home for a few weeks or months I dont see how it is any different

League suspention only makes sense when the whole country and region goes in lockdown otherwise the virus will continue to spread.

It is the right thing to do, not just for the health and safety of the players and other members of the clubs but also for the spirit of club football in the first place, basically a communal event for the local fans first and foremost. If fans don’t get to go to watch the teams play in the stadium then it sort of nullify the purpose of club football, at least partially.

What happens when the suspension is lifted? Do the players then play a backlog of games in a short space of time?

In the worst case scenario: there will be a chaos for Months or Years and who knows what will happen with Europe.
In some middle ground scenario: it will be a horror for a few Months and then we will somehow win and return to normal or seminormal life.

So, about La Liga: football won't be played anytime soon.
Players won't play matches anymore this season.
