Juventus and Man Utd tried to sign Haaland.

Solskjær is the manager who gave him his debut for Molde, and he still rejected him. He was never going to join Barca. He made the best decision he could have made for his career.

The reason Dortmund and Leipzig get these kind of players to flip them for profit to bigger clubs is because they give them the chance to play every week, start a lot of games. Something bigger teams wouldn't give them.

Yeah keep convincing yourself that to make yourself feel better. Haaland would have NEVER come to a Barcelona that literally needs a striker right now and is planning on phasing out Suarez, which was publicly stated.

The fact that we might have missed out on a great striker because of the boards incompetence is too much to deal with, so yeah convince yourself that håland would never come to a weakened Barcelona desperate for young players.

I don't wanna have anything against the guy, because it's not his fault our board are bunch of idiots, but what are the chances he isn't gonna just sit in reserves waiting out his contract till 2024? Probably no chance...

Shocking mismanagement by the club. Nothing against the guy who probably dreamed about playing for Barca and hope he does well.

The club knew they were short of strikers in January and sold two academy guys for decent amounts. For them to raid a relegation threatened club because of an idiotic La Liga rule and get out of jail while condemning Leganes to a likely relegation is shameful. Not a proud day to be a barca fan. High time that Abidal and Bartomeu are replaced.

Barca used to stand for something , not sure it applies now.

He’s here because the board realized they fucked up in January. The entire window was a shit show.

They fecked up this summer already when they decided that 4 players for 3 attacking positions will be quite enough. And when you look at who are these 4 players, you'll see that one is injury prone Dembele, another one is 33 year old Suarez who has history of knee injuries and also Messi who isn't youngster anymore.

Now if you look at other top clubs, you'll see that not only they are stacked with attacking players they also have versatile players that can play both in front three and midfield, like at City Bernardo Silva or David Silva, so they really wouldn't be in much trouble even if 2-3 attacking players got injured.

Yeah, definitely a Barto supporter I am. Zing, lol.

It's as if some of you guys are allergic to character and value comparisons. Interesting phenomenon.
Painting Vazquez as if he's some excellent product is an odd one too. He wasn't on anybody's radar. The best we hoped he'd be is a Callejon type player and he was effectively the warped mirror image of him - can run and dribble but not finish to save his life. If the only thing in this scenario that concerns you is the value for money issue then so be it, but you have next to no serious offensive talents in Barca B that you'd think are good enough these days so no surprise you're going to the market.

I don't need to convince anyone. I'm just relaying what his family and entourage have told/leaked to the Norwegian press here from day one.

His priority was taking it step by step and playing and starting every week. No better team for that than Borussia Dortmund. He rejected Man Utd(and his former manager) and Juventus for that reason.

Obviously you can continue being a smartass as much as you want, but when Haaland agreed to join BVB, Suarez was still available, we had Griezmann and Dembele's recovery was going well.

But sure, someone like that would join Barca to be a bench option just because you've managed to convince yourself that you're such a genius.

Some idiots like to think any young upcoming player would accept being a bench option just because it's a big club offering them a chance.

If that was the case the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig wouldn't be full of younger players with potential.

Dembele rejected an offer from Barca to join Borussia Dortmund because he wanted to play for a team where he could start every week and keep developing.

Not saying you're wrong, but he'd start every week at United as well. Difference is United didn't want to include a release clause. It's also logical that Raiola would advice him not to go there.

Playing time wise Dortmund and United were equal. But he didn't want to be a prisoner in a team. A big club like United wouldn't want to develop him and have to sell him on in a season or two to one of the CL favourites.
He'd be taking a big risk going to United and worst case waste years of his career struggling to play in Europe, like Pogba has done.

That's not true. Solskjær couldn't promise him he would start over Rashford or Martial, nor could Man Utd guarantee Solskjær would be there long-term which was the biggest incentive for Haaland to join Man Utd.

Man Utd leaking that Haaland wanted a release clause with Raiola and Alf Inge Haaland being greedy is bullshit. Every time a player reject Man Utd they leak news making it sound like they rejected the player because of some moral high ground over salaries and agent payments when they're paying Bruno Fernandes' agents a shitload of money and have Jesse Lingard on 150k/week.
