Quique Setien

If he loose against Bayern he needs to go. If he wins but dont use Fati / Puig and doesnt win the whole CL he needs also to go.

If he wins he should do the lotto and make millions, he hasn't a clue what tactics are best even after a full season. Simply not good enough for a club like Barca.

I think he will be scratching his head on the sideline 20 minutes in wondering what to do.

He is going to be enjoying the Lisbon night air with his favourite shirt and aftershave. Might even wear flipflops and dip his feet in a blow up pool, Pina Colada in his hand and airbud in his right ear playing his favourite cueca.

This is already Setien's lottery ma man. Best seats in the house to watch Barcelona-Bayern in the Champions League in beautiful Lisbon.

He is going 442 with Messi/Suarez up to according to the media.

Barca have learned nothing since Roma defeat two years ago.

Messi and Suarez cant play as a two and Bayern will counter it easily by keeping high line.

Sit deep, play 442 with two attacking players that cant play on break and will constantly try risky passes/dribbles and lose ball far too often and not bringing midfield into the game.

Absolute recipe for disaster.

If that is formation he wants then has to be Griezmann who can run off ball and run channels etc. Even if he barely deserves it after the Napoli game. At least then if Messi dropped and played quick ball through there is someone who may have a chance of getting on end of it.

Spare this 'Suarez has to play as only no.9' argument. He has been a no.9 for last 5 years in europe and failed and that is purely scoring goals and not taking into account how awful his all round game is.

Suarez has to play because he's a top dog in the locker room and it's trouble for any manager that doesn't play him.

So Sports say that Busi and Vidal will come back with Griezmann on the bench.

4312: MATS---Defence---Bob, Busi, DJ---Vidal---Messi, Suarez.

I think the starting XI could give them a game for the first 25-30 min.

But Setien not only has to make subs, but make the right subs as well and this is the part that I'm worried about.

Sounds a horrible and horizontal 4-4-2 of the kind that Ernie would play...
With De jong on the left, good lord...

It's 2020 and we are still seeing Messi and Suarez playing as a duo upfront with none of them contributing to defensive work

Like it or not, Suarez still offers the physicality and hold-up play upfront. Messi worked well with that specifically against teams that defend deep like Liverpool, Juventus, Chelsea etc. The only problem we lost to Roma or L'pool is because of Ernie's slow reaction and inability to read the game. He didn't bring on subs quick enough or wingers that could burst through tired defenders, basically fresh legs that could cause multitudes of problem. But no, he squatted on the sideline as if his telekinetic powers could shift the entire momentum of the game.

Setien does has similar traits which is worrying as he brings on subs slow or subs that never made sense.

Griezmann doesnt suit that CAM role at all and I'd rather have Puig or Vidal at the top of the diamond. Messi and Suarez is the best lineup at the moment because we havent got a replacement, and going for a diamond is the safest bet right now since Dembele is out and we have no real wingers.

If reports are true about the lineup then we have a chance. But all I'm praying is Setien doesnt choke this like EV did.

If we can at least frustrate them for a long period of time I'm sure an opportunity to win the game will come along.
433 is no longer feasible for this team. This was the only thing Shitverde got right.
Bringing on Puig and Fati around the 65-70 minute mark should help.

Yet he played him the full 90 minutes.

Bingo. If it is true, too scared to take off your worst performing player. Puig away to Atletico meant nothing?

Anyways, it is crazy when you look at the late subs of Valverde and see the same from Setien. Are these guys too scared to assert their will and feel the wrath of the amogos? (Not a typo)
