Potential Barça B target next year. We were linked to him a few months ago but can't sign him until he turns 18.

He looks incredibly talented.


Japan have another great crop of young players coming through. Their U23s just beat Brazil in a friendly the other day, they've got more than enough talent to win the Olympic gold they've been striving towards.

Imo, they (Japan) are kinda too nice people in real life and that kinda reflects in sport where they often lack a fighting spirit, agression, some dirtiness and similar which is needed on top of talent and technique, in matches where one moment will decide your faith.

They are raised to be nice and polite.
And when they meat an opponent who is as equally as talented but more aggressive and combative, they will lose.

Niceness wins only if you are technically far superior.
If you are equal on talent, you will usually be eaten alive by more combative teams like Liverpool.

I don’t believe willpower is solely connected to being intense and aggressive. Having a zen like presence of mind will always be superior to being combative. Having an empty mind helps. Just ask Phil Jackson within the LA Lakers era. Even Kobe with being known for his killer intense mentality can attest to that.

Seriously though I agree Japanese people seem calmer and more polite than your average nationality.

Any clue why Xavi Simmons didn't play for the Dutch side? wasn't even selected for squad.

I watch the Japanese national team play frequently, as I am Iranian and we play them in Asian tournaments, and let me tell you they are not as nice and polite when on the field, the games get extremely competitive and aggressive whenever Japan is playing against the other top asian sides such as Australia, South Korea and Iran. The Japanese know when to play rough and aggressive but their forte is that they dont get overly emotional, something that gives them a huge advantage over their local rivals Iran and South Korea, both teams are known to get a little too emotional and lose that mental edge

Maybe PSG didn't let him go? Don't know why though as he's not playing for their first team.

Probably the best player in the tournament so far. Unreal talent!

Japan dominated a lot of (bigger) asian nations. Their imperial flag is still seen as unsettling for the populations who were under their rule before.
