I'd keep him one more season. The starting CB pair is Pique - Umtiti though, that much is certain. Pique - Umtiti - Mascherano - Marlon will do for next season.

If he stays next season it will be as CB,he is mostly needed there to provide necessarily experience and leadership in our defense,as a DM with his style of play age isn't in his favor. can't run and be aggressive as he once was

If we sign Sanchez (which I hope we do) that can't be the case

We could sign Sanchez and let him develop for one more year wih Ajax and than next year bring him instead of Masche. Or bring Sanchez immediately and loan Marlon for one year.

I would keep Masche for one more year in either case.
