There is no proof that Caceres is staying which is why I didn't mention him. If Pep really wanted him to stay don't you think he would of said something by now? I'm pretty sure on the official site a while back it mentioned it was in the plans to loan out all the players who had been loaned out the year before and if a loan wasn't possible they'd find a way to "take care of" the player...

Dos Santos has a background implying he could "maybe" handle the DM position for the first team but there is no proof or experience what so ever that any of the young CBs could handle being in the CB rotation. Most of them are still really, really young. Introducing them gradually would be great but with only Puyol, Milito and Pique officially in the books (and Abidal imo not being anywhere near playable as CB) relying on cantera seems stupid. What if one of those 3 get hurt? The young CB will have to play very often.

Forwards yes, and maybe fullbacks since we bought Adriano. But we only have Keita for CM (and JDS, but not yet proven really), Milito for CB and no one on DM - don't understand how you call this a deep squad?

We don't need a world class player as a 4th choice, JDS and Thiago are good enough and 4th and 5th choice.

Yes, there is youth, we can count on them once they have earned their places in the first team or at least emerged as dependable subs. Pep has asked for players to be signed in and our midfield is one of the thinnest in the world. We seriously need at least one more midfielder.

Didn't think I'd have to spell it out for you but here I go...

I never said all 3 would get hurt, merely ONE getting injured makes a huge difference. If Carceres isn't in the squad and for example, Milito gets hurts, Pique and Puyol need to start every game. Given we are in multiple cups, they cannot start every game. That means we'd need to force a youth immediately into the rotation without any prior proving or adapting period. We don't have a single youth that has shown or even given the opportunity to show he deserves to be in the first team. Then what happens if someone is injured, even for a few weeks, and one of the two remaining CBs gets a red card. Rut roh...

Our squad is not deep. It wasn't even that deep to begin with last season, especially with all the injuries we had in the back and Chyg being useless. Our squad is small with quality, not deep by any means. Now this year we lose two CBs and a DM (someone that we could of also used as a CB in a desperate situation if we needed to) and you say we have a deep squad? LOLOLOLOL

The best youth in the world? Just b/c we had one great generation of youth players, with Messi being an even bigger exception with him being extreme quality even at 18 years old, doesn't mean we can throw 19 year olds into the first team and expect them to perform.

It kinda doesnt. If the younger players have a season of playing the odd game and maybe one or two big matches under their belts then yes, by all means play them, but theres no guarantee they will preform straight away. Big step up from the B team to playing in the Camp Nou in fairness.
